The lowest bidder would be most likely to recommend replacement, since that's most likely out of scope and thus billable above the bid price...
Who accepts the work when it comes back from Timco?
Who accepts the work when it comes back from Timco?
If the aircraft went through the MCE mod in BOS then a member of AA management buys back the mod. An AA AMT CC must release the book. He is responsible for ensuring the ECO paperwork is complete, not buyback the work. Not sure if these aircraft went through the MCE mod though. You usually have a manager/qa manager sign off on the work package.ie is every block in the work pacage signed? Who signs us the contractors job. The real by back is when it enters service. Like when you air interrupt as seats come loose.
I can't imagine ANY licensed mechanic tampering with something this serious. Even in our worst days (financial) I trusted my mechanics to give me a safe, airworthy plane. The bigger they are, the harder they fall. So sad..
SCAABCO 757 seat installation Maint. Manual :Where did you get the idea some mechanic "tampered" with the seats? The installation might just have been poorly completed, and not properly checked by the CONTRACTOR, - "TIMCO".
Seats do sometimes come loose from their anchors. It happens, albeit not often.
Jeezus, DFW channel 5 is reporting another 757 last week had loose seats inbound to DFW. That's 3 Timco outsourcing failures for AA. Twu local 567 president Larry Pike stated that .... Outsourcing results in the loss of control of the quality of maintenance.... Then AA spokesman Bruce Hicks about blew his dentures out in response....but it looks like the Polydent came through in the clutch....lolEight planes now OTS due to loose rows of seats.
This was obviously caused by a pilot calling in sick.
There should be a TRO to reign in this outrageous behavior.
The only way outsourcing something like this works
