East Airbus Reconfiguration

As for the pilot demanding those lights to be turned on. Sorry, but he would get a respectful refusal with condition that the f/a reading lights stay on. Whats he gonna do, throw me off the aircraft in the middle of the flight? I could care less IF he is in charge. He is in the cockpit. It is moi who will battle someone trying to enter the cockpit, whether or not its day or night.

I'm sure you'd have the gonads large enough to refuse a direct order from the captain in command of the aircraft. bwahahahahahaha

Respect does go both ways...it's too bad that there are some F/A's who have absolutely no respect for the pax and treat each encounter as an unfriendly and contentious one. That does not give the F/A a license to treat all pax with contempt. I certainly don't treat all F/A's with disdain even though there are a few I think should be thrown out of 1L.

You guys certainly put up with a lot and I have never said that you need to tolerate rude behavior, but I am sick of the F/A's who fallback on the bs "it's a safety issue" line when the reason that two F/A's are conducting a conversation in the front of the galley is not because of a safety issue--particularly when pax are boarding.

The fact that YOUR captains asked YOU to keep the lights on is a factually sensitive scenario and is not a mandate by the FAA that the front light be kept on during redeyes. Who knows what the reason was for that request being made. Suspicious pax? The point is, you cannot generalize and say that the two FA's conducted an apparently very loud conversation in the front galley during a red eye flight due to a safety issue. (I know that YOU didn't condone the loud conversation, but others did.)

I am not pissed, but we can play that same game...the next fat a$$ F/A I see will be reported to the company as being a safety issue for all of the above reasons and more. The same goes for the F/A's who choose to conduct a personal conversation during the boarding process. You see, those letters don't look too good in your file...especially when they start piling up. I am from the Howard Stern school of NO MORE BS. Those FA's can be as self-righteous as they want, but it doesn't mean we believe it and will tolerate it. And the more self-righteous an F/A is, the more I will hold that pompous individual to his own standards.

If you don't like working redeyes, then find a new job. I certainly don't like staying up all hours of the night working on TRO's and injunctions, but that is part of my job and I do it--and you know what, I don't whah whah whah about it either. I don't go back to my client and say, I could be sleeping right now, but instead I am working on your stupid bs. Look, redeyes suck, and I understand you don't like them, but I guess my point is that an F/A cannot use the fact they are on a redeye which they don't like flying as an excuse to be rude to a pax.

REMEMBER WHEN YOU WRITE A LETTER WE GET TO SEE YOUR NAME AND ADDRESS IF THE COMPANY WANTS TO PUT IT IN OUR FILE.......

IF IT DOES NOT CONTAIN IT, THE LETTER GETS TOSSED.

If you were on my crew and displayed that insubordinate attitude, I would have you replaced. And I would be completely correct within the Captain's Authority as written in the Flight Operations Manual.

You're outta here bucko! To be followed up by a visit to your supervisor and AFA Professional Standards.

You can alwys go back to selling shoes at Nordstrom, and probably earn more money at that!

Ohh Lord

Saw where the company just reduced it's revenue forcast for the quarter because loads were down some in August. Wonder what it will do for business when passengers get a load of our new Airbus cattle car configuration? Add this to lousy customer service, late arrivals and departures and all the baggage problems do in part to understaffing. Can't do anything but hurt the bottom line going forward.

Maybe management needs another raise...

As a matter of fact ...yes I do!! This isn't 1974. The pilot is incharge but there is a thing called ABUSE of power and THAT is abuse. That kind of crap is no longer tolerated. There a strong cockpit door now, many pilots now carry guns, and there may be air marshalls on the ac. I know how to keep the cabin safe. I can only hope the pilots know how to safely FLY the aircraft. And considering that the US govt only concern is a cockpit door not being breached and using the ac as a bomb WITHOUT caring if all in the cabin are dead and a bloody mess, don't insult me with the small minded kiss the pilot with the small weinnies butt because a damn flood light might just save the world.

Big gonads AND big balls, thank you very much!!

OOOOOOOO, I'm shaking in my boots!! Go play with your little toys up front or whatever little pistol you have up there and let those of us in the back do what we do best and have done for years. At 20 yrs, I am no longer afraid of the big bad pilot. If you can't respect the flight attendants reasoning behind customer service when there is sufficient lights with the reading lights on, please DO throw me off the aircraft as I would consider you HIGHLY UNSAFE!! You would be doing ME the favor. And if you really think you could get me suspended or fired? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!

Dude (or dudette), what's your problem? All I stated was that our crew did what the captain asked. He asked that the entry light stay on and it did. End of story. What do I get for relaying that info? Smart comments regarding the size of my scrotum (I'm not bashful, so I'll be happy to show you if you care that much). Geez! Yes, hula, I have stood my ground with captains when it comes to something that I thought was a safety issue or one that delt with max hours or crew rest. I've been replaced by captains for that very reason (and was paid for the entire trip, thank you very much). This just seems much ado about nothing. It did not seem to be a huge issue or an over the top request. Add to that, I was not the A, I was B in the back (where the lights were also on).

US1, same goes for you. No, I don't like working redeyes, but I did them because I had to. I recall even saying that it was my fault because I screwed up bidding. From that I get a "don't like 'em, find a new job". WTF?! I hadn't worked a redeye in three years until last month. I, thankfully, have enough seniority to stay away from them; rest assured (no pun intended), I'll not be doing another if I can help it. And enough with the weight thing. We live in the most overweight nation on the face of the planet...there are bound to be some big folks working your flights and chances are even better that there will be an obese person sitting next to you (first class seats are bigger). You bitching about a "fat flight attendant" isn't going to get that weight off him/her any more than me bitching about your comments suddenly giving you the ability to type a civil message on an internet bulletin board.

And all of this has to do with Airbus recongiguration how???? However, well put CLTBWIDAYSYR.

Why does it take over a year to receive an order for new seats for less then a dozen 767's but only a couple of days to start adding new seats to the Airbus series? Maybe perhaps it's because it's added revenue for them vs. more comfort and overall better experience for the money for the passengers. How many hundreds of seats with the same interior fabric in order to match the rest of the cabin does US have laying around?

You know it's kind of funny, because I recently flew on the A319 and A321 after so many trips on the 737's and was thinking to myself how nice it was that finally my knees didn't touch the seat in front of me. On the 737's I feel like a dentist working on a patient if the person in front of me decided to recline their seat. Oh well, I guess US will still be fine for short hops at a good price, but any flight over two hours I will pay a little more for a more comfortable airline.

someone must be afraid to get on the scale
Nah, svelt dude here. If it weren't for the size of my scrotum, both cheeks would fit comfortably on the jumpseat.

Have to admit though, the new avitar is pretty damn funny.

OK, I'm done. Forgive the outbursts and the off topic rants. Back to the stupidity that is the reconfiguration of the US East Airbii.

They are reconfiguring the Airbus?

Try opening a laptop in Y on a HP flight...it's like solving the Rubik's Cube.

Their F product is the worst in the industry and soon their Y product (on the East) will be too. And, I can't wait until the last Row of F has 6 winter coats stuffed behind their seats.
