Effective in the Sep schedule. The PHL- MBJ and CLT - PUJ will be on the E-190. Im surprised no one has caught this yet. It does have plenty of range (2300nm) but must stay within 50 miles of land as its not overwater equipped.

Makes perfect business sense to me, the 319/320 load factor is high, shows no room for growth!! DOWNSIZE the A/C...............Wait until they have to weight restrict them...makes even more sense

If this equipment change is just for Sep, Oct and Nov I can understand it. These are EXTREMELY slow months for vacation travel. Vacation travel to the islands generally takes off after President's Day weekend. MBJ and PUJ are both geared to leisure travel.

It's actually a more comfortable aircraft, just lacks amenities like any other US Airways plane. JetBlue flies them to the Carribbean and US currently flies them to Freeport.

Give the first class galley a backside to it with some space to even scratch your @$$ and I'd be all for it. Everyone talks about how comfortable it is for the passengers but neglects to admit how jacked it is for a flight attendant on a long flight. I LOVE the plane but that damn galley up front is an absolute joke. I haven't been on it in ages but thought they were gonna put a closet in or something? Maybe I was dreaming. I'm sure there are still bottles of water and snacks in white bags all over the overheads. Ghetto. I mean what other airline do you see that? Be honest......NONE

US ordered them from EMB to remove the second part of the First galley so they could put two more seats on the plane....... not sure if they ever put a closet on

Relax , Tempe knows how to run a good airline.

Oh the MBJ crowd will love this plane! JETBlue are you kidding me? With the great IFE they have? The snacks in coach? That plane is not even recognizable compared to "Cactus" E90. Spare me. Yuck how ghastly. The fwd galley is like me trying to pound the square peg on the round hole and turning around to play with my Ezbake oven as a kid. Oh wait....at least I had an oven! Ok a box with a light bulb but it still cooked better than the 767 1st class ovens.

I really like the airplane and it's certainly comfortable for passengers but the seriously need to add a little space to the fwd galley. Even if they installed a 6 inch thick wall that could house items and maybe a drop down table. It's so hard serving a meal on that thing. Not to mention when you DO have a meal you lose the cart with supplies to make room for the meal cart in it's place. It's a joke.

I fly this plane A LOT but have never had to serve a meal on it. Can't imagine how tough that must be. But what I can't understand is why the union gave away lead pay on it. Boarding alone, predepartures (yes, I try to do them-not for the company, but for the passengers-not much else in first) um's, the list is endless) Never any question what position I'm going to fly on this one. At least the blockholders I have flown with understand and commiserate-but not enough to fly A.

I'm not sure but I think the reason AFA didn't push for Lead pay on this aircraft was because we were in bankruptcy at the time or close to it.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
