'Duck Dynasty' Dad Suspended Following Anti-Gay Remarks

If you have to ask what the point is, it would be lost on you.  I cannot think of any parents I know who would agree or advocate for a 16 yr old to get married.  Perhaps your views on this are different.  Do you have a daughter you would want to get married before she even graduates high school?

It would be the same exact issue.

It would not be surprising if he was a Mormon. It is not surprising at all actually. Having lived in the South for 30+ years, I know that is more the norm.

To each family their own. I will not judge.

I dont care what he belives. Marrying a 15 or 16 yr old is sick in my opinion. Is it OK with you?

You haven't bothered to check on age of consent without parental approval state by state??

With parental approval may surprise you.

I am not questioning the legality of it. All Im asking is if you are OK with your 16 yr old kid getting hitched?

If I had kids I know I would not be OK with it at all.

Living in a state with a consent age of 16, like it or not it is the law and I have to live with it. Do I have to approve it?   No.

The right seems to be saying that Philip is a moral and religious man. How does that jibe with him advicating child marriages? Do you think it is morally right for a 16 yr old to get married especially in this day and age? Is advocating such behavior you think a religious person should do? Would you go to a church where the leader advocates that? Would you want your daughter to get married at 16?

Robertson is not a religious symbol in this or any other country.
His remarks are only being posted by the left to even the score for glaad.
He must be destroyed.
I believe Robertson's last sentence in the video is the disclaimer.

His remarks are being posted because he placed him self in the public lilme light and is being touted by the right as being a good religious man being perdecuted for his religious beliefs.

No, just exposed for the type of person he really is.

So you think checking with the childs parents makes it OK for a 16 yr old to get married?  Do you  think it is good/OK for a 16 year old girl to get married?  After all, he is talking about girls, not boys in the video.  I do not care what the law says.  I am asking you what you think.  I'm telling you straight up I think it is a horrible idea especially in this day and age.

What's not "lost on me" is the fact that you have absolutely zero experience raising children yet are always first in line to advise every other parent how to raise theirs. I have three daughters and three sons who have never even remotely had a desire to get married at age 21, much less 16. Furthermore, with my experience raising six children, I have never felt the need or desire to tell other parents how to raise their children or what is the "acceptable" age of consent is. My advise to you would be to keep your inexperienced parental opinions to yourself!

Knowing your moral compass, I bet you would give your 16 year old pregnant daughter consent to abort your grandchild before you would give your consent to marry. Can you think of any parents you know that would do that?

Never been shot but I'm of the opinion it hurts a little bit.  I have opinions on a wide variety of things.  You have made comments on a variety of things upon which you have no experience so if you do not like my opinions you can ignore me.  I have said I wish to tell parents how to raise their kids.  I am mearly questioning how the Christian right and people like you can stand behind a man who is advocating that a child get married.  You people bi!ch about NAMBLA but this yahoo is OK.  BS.

I would driver her there.  Not 16 yrs old but I know 3 couples (one of the daughters was over 18 but they fully supported her decison) who did and a fourth who forced her to place the child up for adoption.

"People like me" . . stereotype much? If by "stand behind" you mean supporting Phil Robertson's constitutional right to freedom of speech, you damn right I do and there is nothing you can do about it short of ####, complain and boycott . . have at it.

You have always preached that a women should have complete control of her body/self. Now we all see that that "complete control" comes with conditions. When it comes to abortion you state a women should have total control over her body/self but the same doesn't apply if see wants to get married or keep her child. Not surprising you have friends that believe the same as you and "force" a women to do something (place her child up for adaption) she didn't want to do. You haven't been shot or raised children, you have know idea how either feels.

Never said anything about his rights and his speech has nothing to do with protected speech.  Move on already.  I am asking if you agree with the premise.  Why is that so difficult for you to grasp?

Yes I do and no it does not.  I have never said a woman should not be allowed to do anything.  Not sure why you keep lying about this.

I am only asking if you (and others) agree with Roberts that getting married to a 16 year old is a good idea.  I am asking if the folks who seem to think Roberts is a great guy agree that its a good idea for a 16 yr old child to get married.

I know you hate me (don't care) but if you are going to respond to my posts at least have the courtesy of reading them and not making crap up that I never said.   If you feel other wise please point out where I said I am trying to force a woman to do something.  I dare you.

He took an interview with a lib journalist on a mission.
Yeah he exposed what kind of person he really is and a fair majority of other Americans agree with him.
You only need parental consent in states where you marry at 14. If they are age of consent, its up to them, not me. Like I previously stated, I don't have to agree with their choice. How you going to stop them?

Ever think he was throwing out country humor? no way  no way  no way  no way  no way  no way

I got one for you, what if they were 16 year old same sex marriages?
