DL's 777's.

If DL was awarded a China route in 2007(Ex. ATL PEK), would the current 777's have the range, OR would DL have to put a "quick" order into Boeing for 3 or 4 777-200er's ??

First things first: The 2007 USA-China awards are for existing China incumbents, meaning that DL is ineligible. But for 2008, the DOT may designate a new carrier. So it's two years (at the least) before DL can fly to China, unless the treaty is amended.

As to DL's 777s: They use the same Trent 892s as do AA's 777s, so they could make it from ATL to China, although with less freight, IIRC. During the 2004-05 Docket proceedings, each airline estimated their cargo capacity, and AA estimated more cargo each way than did DL.
