100% YES!!!!!! I had my fill of being non union at both UPS and FEDEX before I came in at AA. Not having an employment contract (like management) is for the birds.Albert said:WeAAsles be honest if you were as senior as you are and in a hub as you are and you worked for DL and are quite content would you vote for a union? I think the union train might have derailed today .
robbedagain said:well pete when the IAM was voted in at US in 1995 it took til 99 to get the first contract for fleet glad that DL is giving raises n ps but remember those folks with some exception are just folks at will and DL can change it anytime for any reason

So I guess AA will have to wait until our contract is up to get rid of us what's 3 years to a multi billion company. But then you live in Fla you can get eaten by a non union shark by thenWeAAsles said:We're all just PART numbers to the big wigs. Every last one of us. Why keep an expensive part if you can get one to do the work cheaper.
Everything is made in China or Guatemala today right?
If I had one, I would.townpete said:And yours too.

Expecting performance from the people you elect isn't unreasonable...
Read the Railway Labor Act Albert and tell me how they can get rid of us? Then read about and understand why Section 1113 of the Bankruptcy code was written and how easy it is to get rid of us?Albert said:So I guess AA will have to wait until our contract is up to get rid of us what's 3 years to a multi billion company. Job protection? Funny I have been part of a union only once in my life. IAM at US Airways. Only lost one job in my life. While I was an IAM member at US Airways. And I paid dues for the right to lose my job. And the only time I ever heard from the union was 4 addresses and two states later when they wanted to protect against an insurgent union campaign. Never about an opening to be recalled to.700UW said:You do realize they have zero job protections and zero work rule protections?
You do realize two years ago DL cut their profit sharing by 33%?
robbedagain said:pete you can always look at what our 2014 contract currently is and its a helluva better one than the 2005 and 08 one heck the 99 was pretty darn good but I guess in your own mind you rather see peeps lose jobs at the whim of a whip in a company that will do whatever it takes to keep the unions out change ps change anything and everything with little recourse vs having a scope clause that protects. I guess you don't mind some company like DL who has parts of the ramp outsourced I prefer to have a contract in particular with a scope that is as best as what we currently have
Are you positive about that I'm thinking Alaska ramp,British reservations and cargo and Japan cargo among othersWeAAsles said:Read the Railway Labor Act Albert and tell me how they can get rid of us? The only way they can ever really get rid of us is if we vote ourselves out.
Put it this way as 38 year LUS employee with a union I Iost just as much if not more than a 38 year DL employee without a uniontownpete said:
Rather I get sick and tired of the rosy pictured that is ALWAYS painted when the reality of can be a mixed bag at best. And if it is, its nearly impossible to get rid of.
So good for you that you came out ahead. However endless proof has shown that its not always the case.
And like Kev has already (insultingly) displayed, if you get stuck with a sh!tty union, after having smoke blown up your rear, its your fault.
No thanks
