US Airways Update
Negotiations – Transformation Plan
Company Rejects Union Offer of Settlement

To: All US Airways Mechanic and Related Employees and Maintenance Training Specialists

The offer your Negotiating Committee gave to the company yesterday, which provided for a resolution of the issues involved and would have protected the jobs of those we represent was rejected by the company late last night.

Contracts Terminated

Judge Mitchell ruled today in favor of the company’s motion to terminate our collective bargaining agreements, but the airline has agreed to maintain the status quo of the current agreements until ratification is determined.

Negotiations

We have reached a tentative agreement for the Maintenance Training Specialists. The ratification process will take place on a date to be determined.

Negotiations are continuing with the company for the Mechanic and Related employees. The company has indicated they will give us a final offer later today.

We will continue to keep you advised of all future developments as they occur.

Your patience and continuing support is appreciated.

Sincerely and fraternally,

William O'Driscoll
PRESIDENT-DIRECTING
GENERAL CHAIRMAN

If a final offer is voted on that is not a ta. See 700 was right.
They are sticking it to us!

Well coach, how do you feel now, knowing
that your union, the IAM, failed the membership
by not reaching a TA with the company.
Instead, they have chosen to let the company
determine the terms and conditions that will
be voted on. It sounds to me like the IAM
just became irrelevant. I'm sorry you and
your union brothers have been trapped by
the IAM. As USA320Pilot so plainly put it
many months ago, it is better to have a
ratified TA than to let the judge decide the
fate of the membership. It amazes me that
the IAM has been so shortsighted and has
allowed things to come to this.

Best of luck to you in 2005.

You never told me anything and you are wrong.

Spindoc
The IAM gave the company a full comprehensive offer yesterday morning that covered the full ask and more.

The company rejected the offer, it takes two sides to make an agreement and the company never truly wanted to reach a TA.

youre in la la land 700....... if the numbers werent there they werent there....... why were all but iam able to agree????? I told you iam would do this, your response was, iam doesnt eat their young... whats this? cya

Because no group was asked to give up as much.

Did the ask ALPA, AFA, CWA or TWU to give up 50% of the jobs?

Nope.

And you go ask any union rep or member from one of those unions above if they would have reached and ratified a TA if they were going to lose 50% of their members?

Fiboi, do you expect the IAM members to roll over? IF WE ALL WORK FOR FREE< WE WOULD NOT TURN A PROFIT. Your High Powered EXECS, who some did not take any pay cuts, have no clue what the HE LL they are doing. We have no Marketing, no Route Stucture, no nothing. Hub flying no longer works and the company has done nothing to improve our service. This is only Temporary as in the long run USAirways will not survive. Even the Judge said he questioned if we could make it out of BK for a second time.

who wouldnt question it??? IAM did roll over bud, unless they reach an agreement other than what was sent out

Do you have a comprehension problem?

Rolling over means the IAM would have reached an agreement that gives everything away.

The IAM cannot agree to anything that eliminates over 50% of the workforce.

Glad to see you can't answer anything once again.

Guess you never have been involved a negotiation process, it is clearly shown by your lack of knowledge in your posts.

If all US Airways employees worked for free (and I'm not suggesting they should) US Airways would make a heck of a profit. US Airways isn't asking the IAM to work for free. It is asking the IAM to take concessions in line with

1) market rates
2) what other groups have taken

Wrong,

US Airways is asking everyone to work for lower then market rates.

Go check the pay scales and you will see that.
