Interesting position statement when you look at where we are today. Does AMFA have a contract that you would vote for today?

And it is not just today that the TWU lags in pay/benefits compared to AMFA.

Check out 1984:

Who had the superior industry contract in 1984?

June 1st, 1984 hired OZARK AMFA Mechanic 5 Year Earnings = $177,013.20

June 1st, 1984 hired AA TWU Mechanic 5 Year Earnings = $118,040.00

My calculator says the AMFA Orzark 1984 Agreement was $58,973.20 better off than a AA/TWU Mechanic after 5 years of employment.

I think I obtained these documents sometime back from Lee Doughty, Ron Wirts and, M. E. Johnson....THANKS of your help. Too bad we can't get the same help from you today.

I guess we found out that the grass is not as green as we thought it was on your side of the fence!

And once we obtained this information from "The Mechanics for a Better TWA", we had to file a complaint in Federal Court against American Airlines to gain the right to distribute this information.

AMFA attorneys represented us well, and we did finally succeed in gaining neutrality and distribution rights from American Airlines.

Maybe some of those that claim I am a company man, can tell me how many times they haved the guts to sue their employer for the rights to organize a union on the property.

Well, I least I am honest about where I stand, and who my friends are.

And I don't ride both sides of that fence, risking a nutsack injury.

"Well, I least I am honest about where I stand, and who my friends are."

Does this mean we can't be friends anymore?

I feel like I've overstayed my welcome here at this #### board so since Dave is mad at me I will be signing off. Good luck with the vote...

It seems the TWU has changed it's stance on AMFA. It looks like at one time the TWU was trying to parade around the idea that they had the best contract in the industry although untrue they were only off by an average of 11,794.64 a year they are now parading around the idea that they have the worst contract in the industry but, they did not lose as much dues as the rest of the industry. Very good documentation and I see it flushed out a response from mojo. Sometimes the truth hurts mojo and maybe you should consider facing it head on.

What is the current average income of the 10,000 members who are no longer employed at the Airlines under Amfa's watch?

See their is a difference, The TWU believes in Watching out for the long term survival of the members. The ones currently on Layoff at AA know they will have an oppurtunity to come back. No Farmout increase. The members at NW and UA have lost their oppurtunity.

Dave, you had to go back 5 years, as everyone is aware 9/11 changed the industry forever.

However going back 20 years, the TWU changed the industry forever. While 9/11 was one of the most tragic events to this country, it was the TWU that changed the industry, you remember the B-scale, don't ya Rick.

The above is from twu banner waver cio. The FACT remains that the twu believes in watching out for THEMSELVES for the long term at the expense of AMTs. Hey, cio, if you had a choice to be laid off at NWA as an AMT and be recalled back to your job at full pay or be laid off at AA as an AMT (or OSM) and be recalled back to your job at LESS pay and benefits?

As for farmouts, you twu/teamtwu members sure have beaten this dead horse enough. Did not the twu/teamtwu claim that AMFA has allowed 4 bases to close under their watch? Why don't these individuals state that the iam "negotiates" lousy contracts, like the twu, and that AMFA INHERITS them.

Hey cio,

What about this crap that the twu is letting the company try to recall people layed off as mechanics back as OSM's? Losing $10 to $15 (no license pay) per hour most are refusing the opportunity to be lucky to have a AA/twu job. My friend is currently making more money working his old job than coming back as an OSM! Real pathetic cio!!!!

Since the company couldn't fill the OSM slots, the company is now "surplusing" mechanics off the docks into the shops and paying these people their license. Further dividing and angering your core twu supporters- the OSM. The grievances are flying along with the tempers! This is something the twu SWORE would NEVER happen in the '95 sellout contract.

MORE twu LIES cio!!!!!!!

You are an unbelievable liar!

How many times must you be told that AMFA at NWA is currently awaiting Arbitration Decisions that hold 2000+ Mechanics Jobs in the balance? How does that leave them with a lost oppurtinity at re-employment? I say they will be back to work before your TWU brothers are back.

As for the going back 5 years statement. How many years ago was the Bankrupcty at Braniff that you keep harping about? You even dug into your archives and distributed a letter that was written in 1989 by Dave Stewart. That was 15 years ago.

And I went back more than 5 years. That Ozark Payscale was from 1984.

It's funny, when you are defending the TWU, then 9/11 changed everything. When we are talking a direct force majuere layoff that happened as a direct result of 9/11, you claim that AMFA decimated their workforce.

You sound like Kevin Hammack's opening statement, scorched your brain with a Kool-Aid stain to me.

Had you tried holding your own union as accountable as you try to hold AMFA, then you probably would not be faced with an NMB Election that will replace your current bargaining agent.

By the way, in five years, the AMFA NWA Mechanic will make so much more money more than I will, that I could pay my home mortgage off with the difference, and retire early. And that is NOT going back 5 years, that is going forward!

He makes a good point CIO I mean Rick

I believe that is game set and match you lose :D
