Its reported that DL has one crew stuck, US has one and UA has two.

given that equates do the number of flights each carrier operates to TLV each day, it isn't hard to believe those numbers.

Also, apparently the FAA ordered the ban on US carriers serving TLV so whatever DL, UA, or US wants to do is irrelevant.

with more than DOUBLE the number of posts than I have, you are the last one to be parroting about cancer.

And according to the NY Times, the FAA has only banned flights for a 24 hour period.

Dont cause another one to be locked.
Threads couldn't get locked unless someone else responded or got wound up about them.

If the FAA ban is only for 24 hours, then the situation might clear up fairly quickly.

I am sure Israel is trying to convince the FAA of Israel's ability to safeguard aviation precisely because US action could easily snowball into action by other carriers in other countries.

...And if you had been active here all along my guess is you would be well north of 25k by now. WGAF?

OTOH, this may be the first time in this site's history that 700 & Josh are on the same page...

When Israel has accomplished what they needed to do to ensure their peace, then they will stop. They aren't agreeing to anything from anyone until they are safe.
I'm sure the parents of the Palestinian children that were blown apart on the beach last week will find solace in those words...

uh, no, 5K posts per year is far beyond what any user has done.

we've seen about a half dozen forums users weigh in on the politics of the situation and none other than you have said anything other than that Israel needs to defend itself and eliminate the threats to its safety.

or is that we are all saying the same thing but that, because you filter anything that I see thru scratched, cobalt colored glasses, the message you hear is different?

are you, once again, taking a position that is inconsistent with the desires of everyone else who has weighed in on the subject?

no one has said anything about wanting to harm children or innocents.

the whole reason for the flight cancellations is because of precisely that fear.

If Israeli aviation and tourism are affected, it affects innocents.

BTW, Swiss, AF, and LH all have cxld flights at TLV.

Lucky for you the pace would only need to be half that, then.

I'm pointing out a (conveniently?) forgotten piece to all this. While we're all chattering away from the safety of our keyboards, ordinary people are dying horrific deaths- including a disproportionate number of Palestinians and children. These aren't insurgents; they're kids playing soccer on the beach or families seeking shelter in stairwells.

If you would like to expand my original post that to include parents of Israeli children (and soldiers) that's fine too.

DL did not have any aircraft on the ground in TLV; that is why they diverted to CDG.

As I expected they would, several European airlines have followed the FAAs advice and cancelled as well despite Israel's request that they not do so; the LH and AF-KL groups have both suspended flights.

"Air France suspended all flights to and from Israel due to "security reasons linked to the evolution of the local situation," Reuters quoted an airline spokesman as saying.

"Lufthansa, Swiss Air, and KLM also suspended flights to Ben Gurion.

this will likely add urgency for Israel to complete its military campaign in Gaza as quickly as possible.

Israel's Iron Dome defense system is likely to be further improved as a result of this campaign by Hamas; Israel has a history of quickly learning from and applying lessons learned in real world conflict.

"The rocket which landed in the courtyard of a home in Yehud on Tuesday, causing damage and leaving two people lightly injured, marked the first direct hit in the greater Tel Aviv area since the Gaza operation began more than two weeks ago."
