Delta pilots move to block UAL merger...

Uh ohh,

"THIS" will NOT sit good with..........."Donttouchthebeauty",.....Not at all !!!

So now it looks like UAL will turn it's "bedroom eyes" to the other half of the "BK-11 QUEENS".....LCC and "Dougweiser"

Oh my

On a different note, it's starting to look like(now that they are gaining service FINALLY, to Asia) that DL "may" be taking a page out of AA's book, of telling the Industry, "That we'll Go-IT-ALONE, thank you" (Just like NW/CO and AA !

Though I SERIOUSLY ..DO NOT wish it on UNITED, to possibly see UAL saddled with an ABORTION called..PHL, would be Unbelievable !!!!

Lee Moak, DAL MEC chair, does not have his team of pilots behind him...he is a company man. There is a lot of apathy abounding.

Me thinks Moak has to pull a rabbit out of his *** to get the pilot group to rally.

Wouldn't the worst thing about this proposed merger be the divestiture necessary to get regulatory approval? In other words, if hubs such as SLC and CVG were downsized/closed, there would be tremendous job losses. For this reason alone I see the negative reaction to it.
Has anyone considered that UAL may sell assets rather than a full merger of the two companies? I keep reading and hearing that "United is up for sale."

United is up for sale alright. If you (UAL) keep selling off parts of your car for cash...what are you going to drive home? Do we need to talk about furloughs? I didn't think so.

Hedge fund proposals are always about hedge fund investors and/or stock holders, never about the shrapnel of the employees or the business plan of said company.

There is no merger with UAL and DAL. Pardus is not happy with the returns. Pardus would like to take the money and invest in foreign markets since the dollar is taking a dive.

In many areas, yes, but not when it comes to a proposed UA/DL merge. I think most agree that such a merge would be highly scrutinized by the DOJ, and would only be approved at a great cost to labor in terms labor reductions. In this case, Moak does in fact have the majority support, so rallying the troups is not difficult at all.

Since when did the pilot membership vote?

Depends on what you are talking about. Membership ratification has been at DL for a least ten years or more. In regards to the MEC, I think you will find that the MEC officers are in agreement in regards to the proposed merge. IMO, the MEC is in complete agreement with Moak. Are you suggesting that the other MEC officers are in favor of the merge? Maybe I am not clear on exactly what you are saying by "Lee Moak, DAL MEC chair, does not have his team of pilots behind him".

NHBB, I could care less if we merge with DAL or not... The route structures would be great, but the company itself is nothing to brag about, but I would much rather be stuck with anyone other than the nasty AA... Call it an abortion NHBB, but that abortion is half the size of AA and outperforming your "sophisticated" airline... So blab those jaws all you want, We will see how well you are doing after your negotiations.. LOL... and NWA and CAL didn't go it alone... Can you say golden share?? DAL is worth half its projected price at the time of the US deal... That should say something right there.. ... ... AA didn't go it alone either, they reacted to a UAL/US deal and acquired TWA.. You need to get those facts straight NHBB.. UAL isn't desperate.. Glenn Tilton is - get it right.. I guess Arpey is an employee first man unlike our CEO huh?? ?? ??

beauty,
STOP pissin' in the wind, and then be trying to convince everyone, that It's raining out !!!!

AA bought TWA pieces, in a BK..."fire sale", and YOU KNOW IT.
Further more, you might do well to familiarize yourself with the concept of an "Airline FIRE SALE", if you can't drag "Dougweiser" to the ALTER !!!!

I KNOW you catch my drift !!!!!!!!!!!

GONE;

Pensions !!

(Soon to be) GONE;

Air freight

A/C Maintenance

(JESUS), maybe LCC will be a more secure place to work, than our brethren from Elk Grove Village

SINCE YOU are not the ONLY UAL employee, this "observation" is for them.

You know what's the saddest part about all this(UAL) ?

In it's present state(UAL), if you had a guy like CRANDALL, together with Uniteds global reach, UAL "Could" be a "killing machine" !

SAD,..really SAD !!!!!!!!!

I love this quote from the article with regards to UAL CEO Tilton, "He's been perfuming United for sale"

United will have some rather difficult times ahead should it remain as is. Tilton knows this so he's doing his fiduciary duties and looking for a buyer while he still has some cards left.

United, like many other carriers, filed for bankruptcy after the 2001 terrorist attacks. But it missed a major opportunity in Chapter 11 to remake itself into an airline that could compete with both low-cost carriers at home and foreign airlines abroad, industry experts say.

United emerged from bankruptcy in early 2006, yet it is saddled with relatively high debt, and its profit margin, 2% over the last 12 months, remains one of the thinnest in the industry, not even half US Airways Group's 4.4% or Southwest Airlines' 6.1%. "They didn't push as hard in bankruptcy to transform the business model, and they've been playing catch-up ever since," says Stuart Klaskin, an airline industry consultant in Coral Gables, Fla. "And it's clear that Tilton now believes a merger is the road home."

That about sums it up perfectly. Oh wait, this little doozie is for you know who...

United Flight attendants, now getting 1985 pay levels, want more money.

"United Flight attendants, now getting 1985 pay levels, want more money"

That would be United, Northwest, USair, Delta. I would despute 1985! With the cost of inflation, it's more like 1980.

United's problem is it's BOD whom supports Tilton....JUST as it is at Northwest. (however, ours is greedy, but at least somewhat interested in running the airline)

The employees had better get aggressive in removing this man before United is buried. (a la Acker...Pan Am, pure poision)
