CH12 its not bragging its F A C T. I sense you don't have clue and your an employee of HP who just jealous of AA being so big and you are trying to put AA down anyway you can.Ch. 12 said:How is AA a leader if it doesn't try to continue to improve itself. Be PROACTIVE rather than REACTIVE. And besides...how much of a leader is AA if they are bragging about having 70 kiosks at DFW vs. HP's 10?! At well more than 7x the number of HP flights in/out of DFW by AA, shouldn't they have more than 7x the number of kiosks? Sounds to me like AA is not serving the customers as well as the other carriers. Could this be because there are no new ideas. And for crying out loud, who the hell cares if AA was the first or largest at DFW...that's their mega-hub!! HP does not feel that it would have to defend PHX because of course they will be the leader in their own hub.
Give me one good element of this stupid press release campaign and I can shoot it down with at least 3 different bad elements that more than outweigh any benefit. And checking history...AA is the best at claiming to be the first/best at something when that is not actually fact. These carriers are just stating service improvements...not that they are the first or best. AA is defending itself needlessly and illogically while slipping in the rankings and giving even MORE clout to the competitors' press releases.
Back to your comment...it is hardly emulation. AA can claim to have started everything but they are far from being the innovative, market leading company that these releases untruthfully state.
Thanks for not wasting your time since you obviously have no FACT to back up your statements. Respond to anything in my post and I will be proud. If not, then don't waste our time. The FACT is that AA does make false claims. Remember a carrier called Legend? Remember how they WERE the first to have MRTC (through their business model) as well as the first to have gourmet meals on the routes out of DAL? Remember when AA came out a few months later and announced that they were the first to offer MRTC and gourmet meals inflight out of DAL? Seems like a blatant lie to me. And how about misleading? In response to JetBlue increasing seat pitch, AMR stated once again that they were the first to offer MRTC even though they have since gone back to the original seat pitch. And look at the reaction to NW's ski package announcement...AA stated that AA serves the widest range of destinations (in relation to the ski destinations). I may be wrong, but wouldn't that be UA??DFWCC said:CH12 its not bragging its F A C T. I'm not going to waste my time with some closed minded fanatic.
Even if it's false.FibberMcGee said:Image is EVERYTHING.
Do you think it is possible that AA was notified of the awards for 2003 prior to the article showing up in their December issue?WingNaPrayer said:Better late than never. In a desperate attempt to continue blowing their own horn, the AA PR department has dug up an OLD news story and re-ran it as current in order to make itself look "award winning"

AMERICAN AIRLINES TOP RANKED DOMESTIC CARRIER IN SURVEY
FORT WORTH, Texas – American Airlines has been recognized by the readers of Business Traveler magazine as the top domestic airline, placing it just behind Singapore Airlines and British Airways in the survey’s Best Overall category. The 2003 Best in Business Travel awards also named American Airlines the best for domestic coach service and business class service to Mexico and Central/South America.
"American is honored that the readers of Business Traveler magazine have recognized us for our service and commitment to our passengers," said Al Becker, spokesperson for American Airlines. "These awards demonstrate why more people fly American Airlines than any other carrier."

Now, when one visits the Business Traveler magazine website and indeed verifies the awards received by American Airlines, one distinct discrepency stands out, can you figure out what it is?
Business Traveler Magazine Awards.
For those of you who don't spot it, the awards announced are more than a year old. They were the awards given in 2002, not 2003. Talk about being desperate for some spotlight!
Way to go Frizz !!!!
Then I guess DL's stunning victory in "Best Airport Lounge" is equally stale. See end of following article.WingNaPrayer said:Better late than never.
