NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - Union and management negotiators at American Airlines have reached agreement on a framework to keep the company out of bankruptcy, but both sides need to win approval from their respective boards, according to a congressman who brought the two sides together.

Why don''t you add getting retroactive payments for imposing an illegal agreement. That will save the company all the mess of a chapter 11 and send us straight to liquidation. We just lost a billion .... we don''t have any money... we are scratching the bottom of the barrel already.....don''t you get it?
