Would we not be better off to have the two issues viewed as seperate items....? Some members want out, few want to keep a job....It does not seem fair to play one group against the other...although we know it's managements style over the years....was this option discussed...?

Hey Res,

I think that is a question you should keep to your union reps, not to a message board that Management and all others read. Bargaining is something that does not need to happen in the public eye.

The reason I believe it is in your contract is to get the membership to ratify it, but no buyout is worth anything unless you keep the scope language for the ones who elect to stay.

The buy out should be a totally seperate issue, and not linked to the contract vote. Why should agents who have separated from the company vote on what those who stick around make for the next 10 years??? It comes down to common sense, but then again I forgot, we are dealing with Usairways.
