On a lighter note - a senior captain buddy (SteveG, BusBabe, you know who I'm talking about) just finished recurrent and experienced the new "brown bag lunch" forum with Doug Parker. Quote from Doogie... "We will not proceed with the merger with US Airways if it requires America West Airlines to lose jobs or cash."

Don't see it happening boys and girls

Well it came from a message board from you none the less so it has to be true...not.

I shared a Twinkie with Bruce the other day, and he said it's happening, and that Doug is a doo-doo head.

The potential merger between US Airways and America West will most likely not cause America West employees to lose their jobs or America West to spend its cash. That would not be in the interest of either party or the combined business entity.

I find it interesting that Boeing787, a United pilot whose company is on the ropes, would come to the US Airways forum and make such a statement. He couldn't be hoping for the demise of US Airways to save his hide, could he?

It is my understanding the potential transaction will be financed by a third party, possibly RSA, who would then combine the companies. The airline would be run by America West management with the corproate headquarters most likely in Tempe.

Best regards,

Prozac, it's not just for breakfast.....

Dude, you gotta get a grip. The RSA is going to "buy out" rival TPG for big dollars, and then throw more oney at the combination despite already proving they couldn't run an airline. Right....
Explain again how the demise of U would help UAL? Delta, AMR, and CAL maybe, but UAL? GMAFB. I'm routing for "u" myself. I just have problems with your venum. maybe it's that you've got some wildly narsasistic personality that requires you to be "admired by many". you "need" people to think you're "in the know". maybe there was a time when you were (looooong ago during the wolfie days ). your stuff is getting beyond obsesisve and irrational. I'm still waiting for Wolf to sue UAL for 5 billion like you opined years ago. It was on the brink of happening right? In three years flying in and out of two of our largest domiciles, I NEVER had a compnay officer on the seat, yet you seem to have the CEO up front every other day. It's kind of like that guy who "just so happened" to be around every time someone was shredding Bush records at the TXANG. It just ain't credible. You'd do better to say "I wish" or "I think this is the best combination" but your continued assertion that you somehow have better info than the most junior CSR is getting comical.

Best luck to the U guys regardless the direction the company goes!!

How Junior High of everyone. Go on the UAL board and there are lots of verbal molotav cocktails being thrown at them by Delta employees. I guess they have to come on the US Airways board, throw some insults to feel like they work for a real airline...whatever THAT is these days. :p

Quite impressive. Too bad you'll probably have sell those routes off to Jetblue someday. :p So, you better not deny the jumpseat to all those jetbluers anymore. You don't want to be cut off from a free ride to world's top "working girl" destinations.
