Cnn Story About Liquidation

Yea, You're right, management will "ask" for a lot of things.. So What ?...The Airbus Arbitration Ruling {in the IAM's favor} will now serve as a starting point for {good faith ? negotiations , IF this is possible with this management team}..No longer will the company be able to question who has the right to maintain the Airbus 319/320/321. CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE A & P MECHANICS OF USAIRWAYS.

There are NO negotiations. They will just go to the judge and get what they want. If I were a pilot at UAIR, I sure WOULD NOT vote for ANY T/A that does offer even a modicum of fragmentation, scope or successorship rights. May as well just quit now if this passes.

I abeleive CAV is correct, too. Many employees are actively applying and looking for work now.

Some of us have and a very happy we did.

Good luck to those who remain.

U's only hope to keep breathing for a while longer is that the judge goes nuclear on the mechs, invalidates the arbitration judgement, and half the mechs obediently trundle off to work anyway while the other half pick up their pink slips.

Nuclear, hmmm strong term. I think that they have already gone nuclear on the employee psyche along with their pay checks as it is, without number third upon them. So it would seem this is a formula for an explosion that will end U once and for all and to many employees personal relief, because the unknown with now be known. This is cruel and unusual punishment.

To Hawk: Leave now so you cannot be held accountable for being part a losing team.

All I hear is negative stuff here. I suspect it is from folks who, perhaps long ago, left USAirways and are trying to justify their decision.

Do us all a favor and keep your defeatist opinions to yourselves. I wish you well where-ever you are, but if you are out of the "family" just be quiet, please.

Bofie:

I have knowledge that management level employees are
also tired of "the game" that has been going on since 9-11
and many would be pleased to see the company evaporate.
It's not a defeatist position, it's reality. The job market is
rising but is not quite there yet, and 18 months of
unemployment would give a lot of people an excellent
opportunity to find the right career, or train for the
right career. Of course, I am positive many are ready
to jump off the ship as soon as they find gainful and
equitable alternative employment.

Negativity is not just a union thing now. It's spreading
across all levels of the company like a bad case of cancer.

Winglet, I guess you just don't get it,, At this point in the bankrupcy procedure,, The judge does not have the authoriy to go nuclear on anybody..He has the authority to impose only TEMPORARY relief..There will be no invalidating the arbitration ruling. The judge can only give the company TEMPORARY authority to continue the outsourcing of the Airbus work..Sorry 🙁
