Change of Control Grievance Update

All " someone " said was that tehy called the office of the arbiter and they were told " penciled" in dates. Why try to make it look like someone is stupid...
Why so long uuntil it is heard, it was set for and within days it was canceled. why not pick up where it was left off??? Giving the company more time to work on a way to weasel out of paying monies due is just what the IAM has been allowing the co. to get away with, or is it more time for the IAM to roll over for DP and gang....

yes this time frame is unaccetable!!! i just tried to call the IAM 141 union and tell them that this is NOT going to stand but they were closed , on monday i'm going to give out their number and all of us here in phx are going to call them and give them a peice of our mind , and if THEY can't do anything about it , will call the office of the arbitrator and tell them to PENICL IT IN SOONER!!!!!!

It is customary for the company to postpone arbitration dates. The company does this all the time. They usually claim they need more time to prepare. If a date is cancelled they have to pay the arbitrator anyway. Remember, good things happen to those who "wait". Ultimately it will be heard and hopefully they don't pick another 85 year old guy !

ah but your forgetting that these arbitration talks will ONLY help us airways EAST workers , those of us in the west who are not yet covered under the us airways contract won't see a DIME of back pay ... The more time that passes the more WE lose out on the wages we could be earning ...

Just wait and see what the May 21-22 transition talks have to show, bet the company tries to worm out with some kind of a deal after what they have done to us for the last 10yrs we need to stick it to them hard.(CUT INTO DOUG AND THE BOYS BEER FUND)!!!!

This is BS,this process is backwards IMHO.Settle the arbitration first and do it now.Transition has no teeth without the arbitration. Here we go again.Jeeeeessshhhhhhh.!!!!

Watch out IAM-FLEET. The union will try to make the arbitration "go away" in exchange for a transition agreement. If this happens, it will be a total sell out for East fleet.

If the arbitration is complete and it goes in the IAM's favor we will be at a better postion at the table for a tranistion agrrement.
The east side wages would go up,being a target for west wage increase. It would not just benifit the east side, but both.
Then one the other hand if the company fears the IAM's winning of the arbitration, the transition could be richly rewarding for both sides.
By the series of events changing, arbitration being put off,Im afraid it will put us in crap shoot mode I hate that.
I look for transition talks to slow down, hate to say it but if the arbitration is not brought forward first and now things are going to drag.......you read it here,JMHO.

This is not just a fleet grievance, it is also a mechanic and related, they are not going to negotiate it away, if that was going to take place the grievance would have been dropped and the IAM would not have gone to Federal Court to get the arbitration forced.

This is the typical self preservation mode of the iam. They have to put on a show. If the grievance was dropped the iam would be out. The Sept. date allows the company to get through the summer travel season. The iam will trade some if not all snap back money for head count(dues money).
The End

Funny, are you sure about that?

Lets see I saw no deals from the Airbus, 401K or HMO Major Arbitration cases. There will be no deal on this one either.

Don't let the facts get in your way.
