Change at the top

One other thing, "IF" Herb Kelleher walked into AMR today and took the head job, I have absolutly no doubt that all the unions would fall in lock step with him and AMR would be profitable in no time. No matter what the sacrafice.

Unfortunately there just aren''t many people around that would even come close to fillilng his shoes around here.

Right now the thing AMR needs most is a Leader that CAN and WILL bring the employees together to all row in the same direction. Southwest''s secret is its people and their attitude, not only the cost structure. Continental has figured this out, Jet blue has figured this out and that is what Mullin is even trying to emphasize in its Song thing.

Carty has been proven on more than one occasion to be a good business person, NEVER a good leader. At this stage of the game, you need to be both. That is where the industry is headed with its fundamental change.

Ingratitude, as expected.

The computers seem to work fine for bulletin board postings.

PS, I don''t drink KoolAid. But I think the unions serve KoolAid too, just a different flavor.

I would love to see Ol'' Herb come in and perk this place up!

Sadly, I think Herb is loyal to WN. What a legacy!

Gordo does have a mouth (he is quite quoteable) but if he''s a "wolf in sheep''s clothing", he certainly has his corps fooled.

The rumor (and I DO mean rumor) is that Fang may be coming back. Hey, if it happens, I''ll be the 1st to say I saw it on US Aviation first.

Having started at AA under the Crandall Regime and witnessed labor''s abhorrence of the guy...I now believe Hell has frozen over when George Price of the APFA and FSCs (see Dallas Morning News articles from Sunday) support his return.

Ask any member (even years ago) their opinion of Uncle Bob and they will say, "he may be an SOB, but he''s OUR SOB."

There is a very dysfunctionAAL love there.

I don''t think that this company could function under Herb Kelleher! It''s too alien of a concept!

Would I make cuts for Fang? Absolutely.

Do I believe there would be shared sacrifices? Absolutely.

Do I believe that Fang can turn this company around? Absolutely.

I''m not a gambler (though there could be a different post on this regarding why I stay with AA!) but if I were an investor and knew Mr. Crandall was coming back, put it all on Fang!

Coop;
Your right AGAIN.
It''s a safe bet that the majority of ALL AAers, would''nt care how much money it cost to dear UNCLE BOBBY back

My prediction;
Uncle Bobby, back for a year,baby Crandall stays #2.

That gives RLC enough time to TOTALLY season baby Crandall for the eventual #1 spot.

According to the facts, the volunteers were pre-removed
before they even began boarding the flight. I looked at it myself.

Pre-removal at the ticket counter for 3 oversales? In Miami, they don''t pre-remove paxs until the OS list is about 20 and growing. Front-line management generally sets up pre-removals.

Granted, DFW doesn''t have the no-show factor that MIA does but it seems that if 3 were paid, that could mean the flight was overbooked by 3-10. Usually the gate agents handle that.

Odd.
