Not unless it hit both flight crew members or just happened to hit a couple of critical systems. Aircraft have redundant systems that prevent total loss in case of single failures. Holes in the fuselage alone, highly unlikely.

Decompression if the hole is large enough.

Kind of like upper management in CCY. Is that why we have so many?

Am I the only one that got Light Year's joke immediately? WTF is with everybody? I have two words for those of you that didn't get it: Jack Daniels, drink some and lighten up man!

I'm surprised someone hasn't insinuated that the IAM was starting to sabotage aircraft like they did at EAL....

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't there a spate of this some years ago - not with our planes but in the industry?

The said aircraft was in CLT BASE MTC undergoing repairs. I saw the holes and they were two different sizes about 2 feet apart.
The proximity of the forward hole would most certainly have damaged the aft pressure bulkhead if it indeed had been a projectile. However, it did not and it didn't have a mark on it at all. I asked the very experienced sheet metal mechanic for his opinion on what he made of the holes. He concurred that it did not appear to be bullet holes.

I personally don't think this was caused by bullets but rather by someone carelessly operating equipment around the aft door of the aircraft (?).

BTW, UAL 737 was shot during approach to RDU back in the early 80's. They found the slug in a passengers leg!!

Thanks, E-Trons. My memory is like Einstein's theory - relativity good some days and relativity bad others...

In the early to mid-'90s there were several aircraft that arrived at JFK that had what was to believed to be this sort of damage. Speculation was that someone living on one of the approaches to JFK was upset at the aircraft noise, but to my knowledge no one was ever caught.

My sentiments exactly, although a few Coors does it for me. Obviously, some just don't read humor into anything.

Eye, I immediately understood what he was saying, BUT.......... insinuating on a public forum that ANYONE, management or union, would partake in an incident that ACTUALLY happened, is NOT humor!!!!! That was my point. Realize that anything involving an aircraft, especially SHOOTING at it!!!!! is NO joke!! GOOD DAY!!!!!
