i'd say from his demeanor...it looks like hes losing control over the situation.

Why would such a thing make you happy?

You realize that if we still had Mr Wolf in charge, none of this would be happening.

Long ago he would have cut us up, sold the assets off, and made as much cash in the yard sale as possible.

So before you all keep riding Mr Bronner or Lakefield too hard, remember that it would be a lot easier for them, and probably more profitable at this point to just liquidate.

I for one am glad that they are at least trying to make this work for everyone's sake. To find their profit from a successful turn around of this company rather than just getting top dollar for what remains.

If that were plan #1, they could give a crap about labor accords.

It has been said before, IF the required changes are too stiff for you to accept, then feel free to leave. No one is making you stay. Some of you might have better options than others to move onto. But if you have no better option, then suck it up and stop feeling sorry for yourself.

But the status quo WILL cease to exist, no matter what you will NOT be able to keep what you have now, period. You will either have to give now to get later, or watch as a BK judge orders even worse changes, or watch the company and your employment cease to exist. No other options exist.

I just prefer to change it into something that will give US a chance for a future, and hopefully such a gamble will payoff in the long run for all of us.

Sad, but this is what happens when a company loses its credibility with its workers.

Perhaps if Jerry Glass is shown the door, it could be a good way to prove management is serious about improving labor relations.

Also, putting into place the cost-saving suggestions offered by the labor group would help too. Why haven't they been enacted before this time?

Discontinue using the third party maintenance facility in Alabama.

Recognize that CWA employees are an important part of what keeps customers coming back.

Let all employees know what was done with the sacrifices made the last two times we gave.

Quit giving "bonuses" to those who haven't earned them.

Understand that most of us still here have worked very hard to make US Airways survive. Quit blaming the employees for the failures of management.

These are just a few of my suggestions. US Airways has many, many hard-working employees. We gave not once, but twice to help save this company. Recognize Labor isn't the problem. It's poor management. Do a little housecleaning upstairs.

I love my job, I do it well, even though I have few tools at my disposal.

I would ask Mr. Lakefield to get out to the front lines, especially in PHL, to see what goes on. I'd wager he'd be amazed at how hard we all work to keep this airline running.

He also sounded annoyed by what he said were continuing questions by union leaders and employees about why the company could not guarantee profit-sharing benefits if the company files for Chapter 11. "The answer is pretty simple," he said in his message yesterday. "If we file for Chapter 11 protection, nothing, and I repeat, nothing can be guaranteed -- especially a profit-sharing plan."

But they continue to offer this wonderful perk to the Employees!!!!
Nothing here can be Guaranteed, not even the truth.

Gee, you must have reread my posts and reposted them...I have been saying this for months.

Brucy baby in case you read or hear of this: You can make your weekly phone messages sound dire until the cow jumps over the moon and back, but your new face has changed NOTHING. Like the cheating spouse, it happened too many times and now the break up is inevitable. You can be astounded, amazed, mortified, at your wits end, or whatever you choose, doesn't matter anymore because the unions have lost complete trust in this management and this management chose to do nothing to rectify that fact, but instead kept the same team in place that screwed us like a drunken sailor on weekend leave. Bruce, my recommendation is: Go back into retirement because you are fighting a hopeless battle and will only look back at this position as one of your life's biggest mistakes, just like Dr. big mouth admitted he made a mistake investing in this airline. Between you and Dr. big mouth I'll give this ship another few months before submersion to where your periscope won't reach top side.

Heard Kent George on the radio this morning, he runs Pit airport. He said the exact same thing as you are saying here. He also said they are not genuine to deal with, as if we didn’t know that! They did it too themselves with all the lies. This time it may REALLY be over, and I say it's about time.

I have a question, does the bankruptcy judge look at Management wages also? I hope all of you out there that are telling us take the paycuts and live on, do know that Management has received pay raises, they gave them almost everything back that was taken from them......But screw the union members, once we sign a contract they will not ever give us a raise......

CAv,I do enjoy reading your posts,

speaks the truth!

Soon he will have all the time in the world to post and post and post. And make management perpetually sorry for their ills. Wherever they have moved on to...
