Box Cutter Discovered On Plane In Philadelphia

POSTED: 9:31 p.m. EST October 28, 2003

PHILADELPHIA -- The FBI is holding a US Airways plane in Philadelphia after a box cutter was found on board.

A passenger discovered the cutter just before takeoff for Phoenix. Passengers were evacuated from that plane and another plane completed the flight.

The flight had just landed in Philadelphia from Houston late Tuesday when the box cutter was found.

I could have sworn I just heard the same thing, but a prop out of BOS.

Box cutters on two of our planes ! WOW.
What a great job TSA(Thousands Standing Around) is doing
Wow, I thought you were going to blame this one on Dave as well...

These box cutters are usually dropped by catering. I'll bet thats the case. Oh well, you can't sell advertising at Headline News without something mundane being made into a big deal.

"These box cutters are usually dropped by catering. "

Yeah, exactly. The TSA doesn't touch these employees when they report to work. They could plant a nuclear bomb onboard and nobody would know. Just another loophole in our impervious security net.

I don't understand. I thought that the "evil box cutter" was as dangerous as a nuclear bomb.

Judging by our custumers and TSA's reaction, we shouldn't sleep until every one of these deadly killers is eradicated from society. Certianly the danger to the public and society, out weigh any previous utility these proven killers may have had.

What we need to do is start a "War on potential terrorism", with a TSA Box Cutter search and destroy special ops team.

Regulate and license, the sale and use of Box Cutters; and issue a priviledge license to carry and use one.

This is the required next step in protecting our fellow citizens, until the only threat left is the one killer that has proven most efficient and unstoppable in the murder of a countries population....
Their Own Government.

There just needs to be a "Charleton Heston" to represent the NBA (National Boxcutter Association).

So my question is simple...Who signed off the Security Sheet for that aircraft on its first leg? Which leg of flight was the cutter found? If it was the first flight of the day, someones butt is up the creek.

What makes this situation that much worse is that CNN was showing a US Airways 737 and guess what? It looked like a piece of crap! There was chipped paint all over the front of the cockpit window area.

What an idiot passenger for reporting this box cutter. He caused big delays for all the people on that plane. For what? Don't people realize that the reason the terrorists got into the cockpits on 9/11 was because we LET THEM IN? They had box cutters just to make sure. That trick won't work any more, so why are continuing to slam shut and padlock the barn door long after the horses are gone?
