Does anyone recall a message from the company regarding discounts for LCC employees at Bally's Fitness Centers? I thought I received it in the last few weeks, but can't even find it in my email trash folder?

If you have the link, can you post it or PM it to me?

Thx.

I had a membership with Bally's for over 10 years. I inadvertently let it expire a couple of months ago. I was about to renew the other day when the announcement came that they were closing 5 locations in North Texas. One of them that was closing was their premier Dallas location on McKinney in Uptown. The one inside Dallas that is staying open that I know of, is never very clean and a lot of the equipment has constant out of order signs.

Don't know about other cities, but sounds to me like they are in financial trouble.

Bally's is by far the least expensive of the "big chain" gyms, and the deal we were given is about $5 off the typical monthly fee of $30, no initiation fee and no contract. Given that, I figured I can't lose anything but maybe a few pounds off my considerable belly.

Even if they close shop, the most I might be out is part of one month's dues.

But, of course, without the Discount Code that was in the email I can't find, I am hesitant to pursue it.

Just FYI, their "no contract" deal (if it's the same as in the past) is good only at the location you sign up for. For those of us who travel in our work, that's not always the best deal.

Yeah. I suspected that, but where I travel there are no Bally's anyway. Most hotels have some sort of workout facility or arrangements with a nearby gym. So being limited to one location is okay, but thanks for the heads-up.

you need to email the person that's running the Fit for US program. You have the option for joining and using the Bally's that is closest to your location only and I believe it costs $15 a month plus a $30 initiation fee or you can pay $20 a month and use any Bally's nationwide and pay a $40 intiation fee. I've had it for a year and I haven't had an issues with using any clubs anywhere. It also includes childcare if you need it. It's a great deal and I say go for it. I have a Bally's very close to my house and one very close to my home in base so it works out beautifully for me. You can also add family members.

Thanks! That was the info I was looking for. I checked Wings and did a search for "Fit for US" and found the information. Unfortunately, there was a deadline for the prgram which has passed.

As you suggested, I am writing to the Fit for US program to see if it will be repeated.

Contact your local Bally's they may extend it to you anyway.

The Fit for US deal was considerably less than half the normal price. I don't think Bally's will be very forthcoming with that. I did get an "internet special" that ended today that is quite reasonable, with no contract. So, if the USAirways deal opens again, I will simply quit and rejoin.

I did exactly that yesterday and the Bally corporate website returned a message that said, in effect, that this program has closed and to contact my own employee benefits department for further information.
