Newsflash: attacking me is not going to change the fact that bans on things like this are stupid.

And this discussion isn't going to change the fact that such units are banned. Get over it, or fly another airline that allows their use. It's a private company that can make any arbitrary rule they want to, and has to live with the consequences on its business.

How something as little as a GPS could go this long is silly. The bottom line is that they are NOT permitted on the a/c per the FOM and the FEM and also over at US-west. If some passengers would like to let management know their displeasure with not being allowed by all means drop them a comment card. Some companies let you do some thing and others don't. It is what it is until it isn't anymore. Good grief. I would sure hate US to lose business over this. LOL..... Most leisure passengers can't even get the bathroom door open without pulling the ashtray out or figure out how to board when their zone is called let alone operate a GPS. Not a big deal in the day to day airline world really.

Travelpro72, remember, it's not always the pax fault-- there is that one 757 they use to LAS that you have to practically get a running start to open the door in the FC lav. I think I'm going to get locked in and sucked down the toilet everytime I'm on that plane.

That's not the same one with "NO STOWAGE" written in sharpie on half the First Class overheads that are speed taped shut?

I have had that same airplane a few times and tell the crew about it everytime. The door sticks at the bathroom by the 3R door as well. It's just missing the little white thing up top to make it run smoothly. It's just scratched metal against metal. Doesn't it make the most horrible sound too when it finally gives? I just hate the sound of metal against metal like that. I just gave myself chills. uuuuuuug! ! !
