APFA fails to Rerun PBS with DEC Errors

And reason #1 why many folks don't like unions - just call off sick nothing will happen to you - it's funny how folks want all kinds of things from the company - then in another breadth it suggested to just not show up
Yes, we want a lot of things back from the company.  Let's start with forced reduction in our sick time accrual, half pay the first day,  reduced vacation time and maybe just maybe medical for pre-65 retirees forced to either relocate or retire.  Or maybe just maybe getting back our prefunding that the company earlier stated they would give us but now are forcing us to go to arbitration.  Wow, we are really getting one over on the company.
It's seems a shame they can't make more money.  Maybe it's all us ungrateful workers that are dragging them down.  Funny how that is.

Well you can tell you dont work for an airline, if you call in sick there are ramifications, seen many fired for sick time issues.

You can't tell where I work - what I can tell is that I would never call off because I'm mad about something

After admitting errors in December PBS bidding AA offers to rerun bidding.

APFA declines and will "contact individually"

Real transparent way to run a union!

People held Xmas offl ast year but not this year while more junior are awarded
Xmas eve and Christmas off.

Native AA prepare for a meltdown.

So very not transparent.

Welcome to American Errorways!
News worthy shiit. Who gives a rats a$$.

Problem is that AA chose not to re run the bids. It's their choice, not the unions. AA is in charge, not APFA. Also, AA is the one calling people, not APFA. Again, its because AA is in charge of the bid run.

Go file a grievance whining here won't change the outcome.

Making wrongs public knowledge is worth the perception of "whining".

Oh, I get it! Don't worry about it - we've got it.

Yeah right.

If Native Americans had their seniority violated over Xmas I'm sure you
would COMPLAIN about a whole hell of a lot more "whining".

If your solution is to just grieve it you would have nothing to talk about.

You sound like what the company would say.

It's a flaw. One waiting for you in the future. It needs to be fixed.

If you're in the middle no matter what your seniority in DFW,LAX etc. you WILL be assigned until coverage is satisfied.

This violates seniority order!

Run PBS THEN assign in inverse order.

Coming to Native Americans system wide DEC2016!

APFA Motto : "We asked but they said no."

So the software malfunctioned - rerunning looks like it would produce a similar result - AA is offering compensation to those impacted seems like they are trying to make the error right through extra pay

"...American is sufficiently concerned that it is offering incentives including 150% pay for every trip that legacy US Airways flight attendants fly between Dec. 15 and Dec. 31; 300% pay for flight attendants who agree to work the mistakenly assigned trips and pay protection for flight attendants who do not fly them."

So time and a half for every trip from mid Dec 'till end of Year,  triple time for FA's who work the incorrectly assigned trips and pay protection for the trips that aren't flown.

What's a topped out FA making so we can mock those who are "outraged" on 'social media' about being forced to make extra money, or simply not fly the improperly assigned trips and still get paid.I'm sure these 200 LUS FA's have max sick accrual in the bank, what's the issue?

"what's the issue?"

What a short sighted answer.

Not that you would understand but the issue is beyond the 200.

The issue is assignment of coverage violated seniority.

Assignment needs to be in INVERSE ORDER.

The money is the company trying to mitigate a flaw in the software by spending money to prevent a meltdown on Xmas.

Good luck.

If APFA thinks everything is ok then we have a problem.

Bribery does not solve this.

Do you use seniority in your work group?

Apparently not.

So they skipped you during your bid - big deal.

It didn't malfunction.

It ran as written which is not ok.

If this isn't rectified this will be waiting for Native Americans
come DEC2016.

Money does not fix this and some APFA people will be judged
on their reaction.

It's amazing - I sure hope the FA's never make a mistake in anything they do - since they expect perfection - we should we expect the same in return

The problem here is not PBS itself, but the implementation.  I myself welcome it, and expect a few glitches as it's introduced.  It can't arrive soon enough for me

Amen.  I have friends who fly at Frontier and Alaska.  Both use pref bidding.  My friends love it.  And, in case anyone wonders, they both used to fly for AA; so, they know our current bid system.  They were classmates of mine who chose not to return from furlough.

That being said, I used to be in the computer business.  Though new to AA, pref bidding is not new as a concept or a software.  (As I understand it, there are 3 major pref bidding software packages.)  I would have to ask why these errors are still occurring.  I wonder if it has to do with the particular software we chose.
