I have to agree. They are a class less bunch of idiots, we have as national officers. I am happy and proud to be able to say I didn't vote for them. I was lucky enough to already know what a couple of idiot clowns these boobs john ward and jeff bott are.

In accordance with Resolution #5 passed by the APFA Board of Directors on July 29, 2003,

the APFA e-board will be discontinued effective Friday, August 1, 2003.

This action was taken by the Board in an effort to cut costs associated with the maintenance

and monitoring of the e-board.

I received the above email this evening. I can''t believe the cost of keeping a message board open could be the real reason for closing it. There has been a lot of heat on the APFA leadership lately and I don''t think they can take it.

That message board had the same 5 or 6 people bitching and moaning to each other. And nothing but rumors and he/she said. If not for the costs alone it will at least cut down on all the false rumors out there. The Union website should be the source of acurate info only.

Not too much unlike this one, is it? It seems to be the nature of bulletin boards to attract the most negative and vocal people, and the number of participants is always way below the number of people actually belonging to the organization. But they are still a good source of information, even if you have to separate the wheat from the chaff.

Those of us who are furloughed have lost still another link with our past.

As I am not a former employee of TWA. I don't naturally find hints of conspiracy in everything that is announced. I will agree that if there are ways of reducing our dues and shutting down the BB on the site is one of them then go for it. I get all the gossip I need on the aircraft.

Well, I'm a nAAtive, and I find it curious that a lot of the so-called "rumors" that were posted proved to be true when the company and the AApfa finally decided to announce some event or circumstance that the media and the "rumor mill" had been saying for weeks.

I posted something straight from the 8K that AMR had filed with the SEC in June, and some of the company/AApfa suck-ups called it "just a rumor."

Also curious, there was little discussion of the value of the board pro or con until the actual 2002 earnings of the EC and BOD were posted on the bb for all to see. JW "earned" over $92,000 last year. Leslie Mayo who is a DR "earned" over $95,000. Less than 2 weeks later, it was decided that the bb didn't have enough participants to justify the cost. Just a coincidence, I'm sure.

Speaking of EC earnings. JW has just taken a "pay cut." It was decided that he would be paid the equivalent of an "International Purser flying 110 hours a month." How much is that? There are so many variables that he could be paid almost anything and it could be justified as meeting the above guideline. The problem is we won't know until the required government filings NEXT YEAR where the AApfa has to spell out exactly how much each officer's total compensation was for the year.

Do you really consider galley gossip a luxury?

Ignorance is spreading unaccurate gossip around the system via a message board. People are so quick to believe made up stories from "friends". The Union website has offical info for its members on the site. If the membership has questions they can go to the meetings or follow up with their elected reps. If it saves money to shut it down I'm all for it.

Being on the street, I would miss it. As well as a lot of other inane things about this job.
