Thats a 10-4 Dan o when your in HNL.I've been shot down before on this one BUT, a hawaiian style shirt, with stylized postcards of our warm weather destinations should be an option. I flew AA waaaayyy back to Hawaii and the crew was decked in Hawaiian garb, i found it to be very festive and really set the mood for my holiday.
Exactly, and that stupid Grandpa tie, oh please I do not think I need to say anymore. "Something we can take pride in" right on. I never cut corners with the uniform (even though sometimes I could care less if I shut the tie in the door) but I think some of our problem with it is that we have no option and its just OLD. I mean come on even our most beautiful flight attendants are starting to have a hard time pulling it off. There has to be some happy meduim for "ALL" of US, even MDA with his tie. Far be it from anyone to tell one of those Double Breasted Blazers that they cannot have their beloved tie!I think the only people who care about FA uniforms are the FAs. The uniform just needs to be stylish enough that the FAs take pride in wearing them and/or comfortable enough that they appreciate the comfort on long hard days.
Well I like the idea of Hawaiian motif shirts and dresses for the Crews working the HAWAIIAN flights. AWA had a great looking getup back in the days when they flew to Hawaii and offered their "Bird of Paradise" service. This was the norm years ago when most of the carriers had a uniform substitution on these routes- just not sure what is currently being seen on these flights.I've been shot down before on this one BUT, a hawaiian style shirt, with stylized postcards of our warm weather destinations should be an option. Why not on the carribean flights then? We should wear kilts to Glasgow too. Just kidding on that one.
Stan Herman was chosen as designer.Any idea where we are?
If it is going to take this long, perhaps there is no need.Summer 07 was latest update
LOLOLOL Thats is so true. Most of SW f/as look so ridiculous in shorts and tee shirts. Its circa 1980, BUT yet so appropriate for SW. Think about it- tacky colored airlines- livery, HIDEOUS interiors, no video, no music, just bad lookin silly fa/s who are trying to do some kinda silly schitck. But then again thats what middle america looks like. US will hopefully bring a bit of stylized comfortable sophistication to the airline industry. To answer your question on "Why not wear the specialty outfits to the Caribbean?" Well for one thing unless you are unaware of HOW those flights are constructed in a trips pairing.....most of the time they are turns with a domestic segment before/after the island flights. I highly doubt you will see it for the Caribbean when many times you may be doing LGA-CLT-KIN-CLT-RIC. (And IF they did allow it, the individual would look more ridiculous then those 50year old grannies at southwest trying to look "HOT" as a college coed with their cellulite legs and rear ends packed in bermuda shorts/oxford shirts and a navy blazer.Sure as hell TURNS my stomach!
