Amfa...not For Anymore!

You've got to be kidding me, Hackman!

I added a little humor to this board and you're giving me a lecture?

If you think I'm not concerned about what's going on, you're sadly mistaken!

By the way, currently I am represented by the TWU. They are the ones who began the final fight AGAINST our careers!

Let's go back in time for a minute.
WHERE WERE ALL THE UNIONS AND AFL-CIO IN 1981 WHEN REAGAN FIRED THE CONTROLLERS?
YEA, YEA, THE STRIKE WAS ILLEGAL, I KNOW!

WHERE WERE ALL THE UNIONS AS WELL AS THE AFL-CIO WHEN FRANK LORENZO SCREWED CONTINENTAL EMPLOYEES IN 1983?

WHERE WERE ALL THE UNIONS AS WELL AS THE AFL-CIO WHEN LORENZO GAVE A REPEAT PERFORMANCE AT EASTERN FORCING A STRIKE?

WHERE HAS THE AFL-CIO BEEN SINCE THE ATTACK ON AIRLINE WORKERS BEGAN ON 9-11?

You're giving me a lecture because I brought a little levity into this forum?

I started in this business when an aircraft mechanic was still considered to be at the top of the blue collar work force!

I am totally aware of what the UAL guys are up against. What is happening at UAL will have a domino effect on the remaining unionized legacy carriers. The pension and contract changes will spill over into every other facet of corporate America.

There are worse crimes committed in this forum then a little humor. We as airline workers are under great stress because we are afraid of what the future holds for us. Thanks to UAL, I think we KNOW what the future holds for us.

Although I work for AA and have a union who doesn't know the definition of negotiating and forcing the companies hand with a strike threat, I, as others are hoping that AMFA does the right thing at UAL. They are our only hope.

Sometimes humor has a way of shedding a different light on the worst of situations.

So please spare me the lecture!

I wish I was kidding. If your post is so "humorus", post it over on the UAL BB and lets see if they think its funny. If have had enough of the fence sitters and the twu do-nothings sit back and "arm chair quarterback" running their cowardly pie holes about how AMFA did not strike and AMFA brought back a t/a and AMFA has no balls.... and this.... and that.....they should have.......and why didn't they. ENOUGH!!!! The twu and the iam have sold out time....after time.......after TIME.......AFTER TIME.....AFTER TIME!!!!! The twu wouldn't know the word strike if it bit them in the ass!!!! But they have "Strike Force- Dead Serious t-shirts!!! Cowards and nothing but. They ran away from the fight for years and now they again are yap, yap, yapping, while others do the fighting for them. Its f***ing sickening the gall these twu cowards have!!!!

I agree with you on the afl-cio and how worthless they are. Just today this http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,156994,00.html article was in the news. This to me is the exact problem with most all the industrail unions. We will change when the fat bastards at the top say so. Meanwhile, the industry's working people get gutted like farm animals. Do the Jim Littles, the Mike O'Briens or the Sonny Halls, or the John Sweenys give a rats ass??? NOPE!!!! "We have our six figure salary boys. Pay cuts are for you "unwashed masses" to deal with, so go pack sand. We are truly sorry whats happened to you and your family, now go call somebody who cares. I have a yacht to catch".

I started in this cut throat business 22 years ago at the age of 18 in the USAF. I have put my life into it, alot of money, sweat and even tears. I'll be damned if I am going to go down with out a fight. The union I have forced on me now won't even make a stand. They can't... Its hard to do much from the compAAnies love nest. Therefore, I will do everything I possibly can to eliminate them from my life. It pisses me off to no end that AA mechanics are the laughing stock of the industry. We have brought this industry to its new lows every damn time, contract after contract, for more than 23 years. We are considered sellouts, weak, and compromised. The concessions the twu gave years ago are just now showing up in the other carriers bid for the same concessions today. The worthless twu is responsible for most of it.

We will never be were the UAL is today. The twu will sellout before the fight ever gets to the point of striking!!!! Its got to change.

Hackman,

Hopeful spent a lot of time and energy hoping that someone at UAL would fight the fight he and the TWU have been avoiding for twenty years.

Unfortunately, the Maintenance & Related at AA are actually held hostage by the negotiations between UAL and the IAM RAMP.

If the IAM RAMP is forced into accepting greater concessions than AMFA; we know that the TWU will average out the concessions they are forced into by AA.

Yeah, ok Hope. Lets all put on our funny faces now, its all one BIG joke, everythings going to be fine. The company will be our friend now, and the twu will see to it we have a union that will be on point for us in case any "bad guys" attempt to harm us.

Say, can I have a pull off that pipe your smokin' Hopeful? Thanks......

Lets not forget the TWUs PR campain during our negotiations in 2000. A photo of a Super-80 taking off. Whoa, I bet that had the airline concerned and showed them the TWU meant business!
