Late 90's, the offbeat newspaper, 'Miami New Times' did a long story on MIA bag handlers from a certain airline after the major drug bust, a bust that caught the minor players and copycats. The government couldn't afford to hire the real criminals.
One point that was made the the violent, murderous Colombian drug cartels. They regarded the MIA rampers (all airlines) as disreputable thieves and criminals that even they couldn't do business with. 😉
The story is in the archives somewhere.
Sure, nobody in MIA at a certain airline has ever heard of 'building a wall of bags' and subsequent looting.
