American Airlines rebranding ‘very soon’

No matter what they would have done all you chronic complainers wouldn't have liked it. Just give it a rest already could they have done better maybe but who cares!

I think initially it is always a shock to see a new livery, I wasn't too fond of Delta's new clean paint job, as opposed to the beach-towel livery (which I loved), but slowly the new logo and livery have grown on me.

Same with US Airways, US Airways new paint job was very nice, the most beautiful one of them all, but I was and still am a bit disappointed that they didn't drop the flag. Today, I can say though that theirs is the most beautiful one out there.

United? Well, that one is is just plain Continental. A cheap job post merger. Would have been nice if they had redone the globe, give it a tiny touch up - not change too much, but just touch up a bit.

AA's new eagle is nice, but the tail.... What is that supposed to represent?

I agree with amt66, who cares what paint is on the aircraft. The bottom line is that AA gave all that money to some marketing firm to come up with this idea. Now the cost to strip the old paint and install the new. How much is that costing? Who is going to do that and at what cost?

That money is coming from your pay check don't you guys realize that.

They cut your pay and took vacation to buy and paint the planes.

WAKE UP

All the yrs AA had the non painted aircraft with minimum paint, basic.

That along with the ovens and everything else we took off the airplanes to reduce weight.

NOW we are going to add paint to the airplanes, ask if that is a gas saving feature?

Maybe AA made a deal, to get cheaper jet fuel or is that extra cost going to come out of the employees pockets as well?

It's a job people No Longer an Adventure

Just wait til they add the One World splotch, registration #'s, catering stripes etc. Looks horrible IMHO. Pension $ well spent. New paint scheme getting outsourced to China or North Korea?

Wow, everything but the tail is fine with me, but the tail? God aweful.....the eagle was a "powerful" symbol because of the affinity we Americans have to eagles because of the Bald Eagle and the meaning it has grown to have for our country. They tried to create the maerican flag back there and it just didn't work well.

The other "mock-up" done by somebody on some other site that a few have referenced where dark colors were incorporated I preferred. Generally, when a company creates a new brand, they have surveys done to see customers reaction, hope they did that here and this is how they decided on the final design.

Cheers,

If AA was going for the Northwest airlines low maintenance livery look, they should have went all the way.
