American Airlines layoffs in Tulsa off the table

From today's Tulsa world......but even if no one takes the voluntary separation American Airlines won't have layoffs this year. American Airlines will move more work back to Tulsa as its new fleet of aircraft require more maintenance in the later years. ..............WE have already started modding the hangers to accept the Airbus aircraft
Ok...Did A319/A321 training for TULE begin yet?
Ok...They are modding the hangars to accept the Airbus...Ok.....What happens down the road when the 767-200 are retired by June/July of this year?
MD-80s down the road? 757s?  Still no layoffs?  I hope you are right.

Don't get me wrong..It is a good thing when work is brought in....But you do realize the Airbus will never see a major OH?

Who is "WE"? You sound like management or as if you own the place.

Bob, is correct. Until the Union Representation takes the position that management hires, fires, and sets headcount NOT THE UNION, then your representation will continue to suffer some form of concessions to "save jobs" that will still be eliminated via attrition. Wake up and try to remember the past, and you cease making or allowing the same mistake over and over. Why the hell does TWU leadership buy into the farce, that they manage the Tulsa Base from Pine Street?
Lol by we I mean the company is modding some of the hangars to accept the Airbus aircraft. Not for heavy checks of course but whatever work needs to be done. And no management here just a lonely old underappreciated mechanic lol.

I wonder if the New AA will adopt the US maintenance program on the Airbus.

Its a 5 to 6 year S-Check and multiple overnight Cs, with the last C11 being a several day check.

Instead of just downing my rep..Why not include a rebuttal?

Coming from the training department AA will not see the heavys on the Airbus fleet. Any other cleaning up of work is usually done on B checks or on the overnight aircraft.
Something or someone is not telling the whole story.

Scorpion2 said it best.  The TWU will soon post a letter claiming "look at all the jobs we just saved", when this was all planned from the get go and before the original layoff announcements, just so the TWU can come out later (which is now) and say they yet again saved over 400 jobs,  I call BS.  The company and the union both new this was coming, it's all a scam to get the mechanics to work weekends and shifts without an uproar.  This way the mechanics can say, "at least we didn't lose our jobs"  and "I gladly work weekends to keep my job"   and let's not forget "Oh thank you TWU for saving my job"  It is all a set up with collusion between the company and the typical TWU leadership once again, in a way where they try to make it all look like the TWU saved the day in order for the membership to keep the union in an up coming election.  If the company really was going to lay-off then they would.  The key statement is the guarrentee that the company made that if no-one takes the buy-outs they still will not lay anyone off.  There was no lay-off from the get go guys, it's all a scam and your membership will once again fall for the BS all over again.  Just like an abused person always goes back, you guys keep on accepting your abuse and do nothing about it year after year.
