If I was the Flight Attendants, I would complain more about the conditions of the cabins prior to the first flight of the day. With the elimination of Utility in numerous stations, the fleet service group has taken on the RON cleaning and doing the best they can. However, with the lack of personel and bare minimuns of cleaning supplies, these aircraft are down right gross! All our aircraft need one hell of a cleaning.

Yes it is an FAA and TSA mandated security check, the utility workers in clt last night were told by the shop stewards to make sure they do their security checks and ron cleaning by the paperwork and to keep a journal of all the nights activity to cover themselves to ensure they cannot be disciplined by doing their work exactly by the paperwork.

What is even worse, last night the company cut the work hours per airplane in half. They are saying one person can clean and security check an A321 then do another airplane.

In reality a 321 takes two people 7 hour man hours each to clean and security check. Look for the airplanes to be even filthier now.

This directive came from upper management who sits behind a desk and does not even have a clue on what the job is or entails.

On the brighter side, we have been thru this before and we have won, just another battle to fight against a company who is pushing themselves to fail.

Like we told management last night, we were here before you came to work for US Airways and we will be here after they fire you.

Have you guys gotten the Security Department involved? They are very good and if you explained how the security checks are being compromised, I think they would put pressure on your local Management.

Informational Picketing, Thursday, June 5; Pittsburgh International Airport, US Airways Ticketing Level, 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.; Philadelphia International Airport, Terminal B, 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.

LavMan, just wondering what the company would do if when the flight crew showed up, all the seat cushions were still off and some of the life vests out of the holder on a B757. I mean, it is an FAA MANDATED security check. You have to do it by the book, right?

This company''s management reminds me of this story:

Dave and his labor unfriendly gang are like the little kid that picks up the stick and keeps poking and tormenting the dog thru the fence. One day the gate is gonna be unlocked and the dog is gonna jump out and bite them in the ###.

Pitbull,

I assume that the local membership paid for this expensive press release? A great way to spend their union dues. Not a smart move to paint a negative light on the Company, especially when we are hurting for passengers.

Smoky,

I do not believe that I have posted on this board. But, since you are singling me out......

Take your mangagement job and your management retorhic and stick it _ _ your _ _ _!

This management cares as much about revenue now as they did in the winter when they announced a press release of "liquidation". Remember?????????? During our Christmas, busy, holidays?????????????

Tell your guys next door your office to sit down with labor an attempt to be fair AND HONOR OUR AGREEMENTS AND RESPECT THE EMPLOYEES WHO ARE THE STAKE HOLDERS, STOCK HOLDERS, BOARD MEMBERS AND HAVE SAVED THIS COMPANY.

Kapeesh?

PS. Press release was FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, not a smart move on management's part to exploit the loyalty, and sacrifices of their employees by ignoring their suffering. With regard to the "sick policy" violations and the 5% deferral to be returned, sorry,Can't cover this up for management and hide this one this time. The employees won't stand for it!

Good analogy, but why do I sense that the unions (and employees?) have only the bark but lack the ability to actually bite?
