AFA COUNCIL 70 PHL UNETHICAL BEHAVIOR

Well I guess if I had been stealing 32 hours or so a month from my constituents...I wouldn't show up either.
Definitely have a point there. All reserves and blockholders should be upset over this one. Needs to be a recall of officers that are allowing this type of practice to occur. Definitely unexcusable.

Definitely do believe that Airportman knows what other flight attendants have been talking about while on line. Go and get them Airportman.

The MEC President is aware that this is going on and feels that this is acceptable practice. He has been contacted about this numerous times. So the only other solution is for AFA International to investigate this allegation. For AFA to be utilizing funds this way is unacceptable. They should be picking up trips off of AIL and being paid like the rest of us. As for the reserve chair he needs to be on line like the rest of us reserves and sitting on call only collecting 73 hours of pay which really sucks! I want to know how they figure they deserve 5 hours of pay per day for a 9 to 5 when the rest of us end up if we are lucky getting 5 hours for 14 hours of work. I am very disappointed in our elected officers and I suggest that a petition be sent around to recall them here in PHL.

IMO, the elected union reps should be working for the f/as the days they are getting paid by either the company fpl or union dues. If they collect 105, put in 20-21 day per month. Those days should not be spent partially flying. If they want to make extra money they can go on ETB when they have already put in 20 full union work days per month.

There isn't anyone, in any union, any rep that I have ever met that works 30 days a month. Everyone takes time off from work, both flying and union work. So, I can not comprehend how anyone can get 60-70 hours of ETB as a union reps, and say they are working for the f/as and have time off for family and friends. The only thing I can deduce is that they are taking the time for R&R when they should be at the union office doing union work, especially if they are collecting 105 FULL FLIGHT PAY LOSS per month.

Well thanks to some clarification from somone in the know. It seems as if the only person in the PHL AFA70 office paid by the company is the LECP. All the others are paid with Union Money. Where does that come from? Hmm. So to use my money to Further the financial good fortunes of another Reserve FA to the tune of 105 hours a month...and then have him pick up another 35 or so hours off the ETB kinda pis#@ me off!!!

Hey folks. The Reserve chair isn't paying himself the flight pay loss. This is stamped and approved by none other than the LECP herself. Why? Because she is doing the exact same thing.

The Company flight pay loss is for union work in the base. That doesn't mean the entire 105 should go to the LECP. It should go to the LECP if HE/SHE is working 20-21 days of union work for union business only. The question is are they honestly putting in that time every day to justify 105 that your dues are paying for?

Union work takes a commitment and a passion that few of us can grasp.

AND VERY FEW REPS HAVE!

The LEC's in PHL could care less about the flight attendants. Did not do anything to help the flight attendants being displaced. Heard Charlotte sent out welcome packets to the flight attendants going into their base. Heard it came from their reserve committee. Why didn't our reserve chair do this for our flight attendants especially since he is not flying out on the line and getting 105 to work in the office. Wonder if the committee memembers in Charlotte are getting 105 to sit in the office or are they flying on the line. Anyone know?

Uhh...I'd bet they fly the line as well. And I don't mean ETB!

Yeah...and just becasue shes in the office all day does not mean shes doing anything in the office allday!
Remember that she is not in the office everyday. Does not live in PHL lives in CA.
Since the company has changed the policy for union traveling bet it has really put a dent in how many times she really is in the office.

Wonder what happened to Tuna Can Man (aka A330boy)?

He must be on an ETB trip! I'm sure it does cramp here style now. But just think of the sacrafice she makes being in phl 21 days a month to work in the office. WoW!

I'm on the RSV commitee in CLT. We have the RSV's call us to get things answered. The lady who is heading our RSV commitee is doing great. It seems like the officers don't appreciate her much. Maybe they feel threatened? She would also be new blood in there, as apposed to the ancient ones in there now.

Glad to hear that! Do you know if she is paid for her services? Or does she volunteer? Thats the issue we have in PHL.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think it's voluntary right now. She is a real go getter. We have about 10 members on our commitee. We talk amongst our RSV selves. We keep ourselves in the loop. We hand out Bus. cards to all the RSV's we fly with. If I can't answer a question, we get it answered by someone else. We actually have same day service.
