I won't call you liars outright, but let's get real with your times. Recently I saw a flight leave PBI 20 minutes late but when I accessed it online, it showed sched.
You guys....
You guys....

I doubt it...of course, anyone whose flown Delta might notice that they've closed the doors 10 minutes prior to scheduled departure...did they release the brakes...only the shadow knows. Sorry, but the disgruntled employees of other airlines will always think you guys are a bunch of liars. Must be pretty bad at it considering your on time numbers aren't steller. I dunno....is it part of the hiring process that SWA will only considers liars and cheats as pilots?Bud, can't address your example, but no one I know cares about on time departures, just arrivals. I've never seen anyone "give" 20 minutes on a departure.
In fact SWA has directed that efficient fuel usage takes precedent over on time arrivals, hence the middle of the pack DOT results.
SWA is going to use ACARS in the near future for times anyway. Maybe then the issue will go away.
How about the napkins to maimtenance, instead of the A/C log book, will the napkins also go away.Bud, can't address your example, but no one I know cares about on time departures, just arrivals. I've never seen anyone "give" 20 minutes on a departure.

Hmmm...I dunno. When it comes to the plane me or my family flies on and maintenance....if there is something to be done, I could care less if the mechanic got the information on a napkin or a nice Form MA-B-15 or whatever the hell the proper form is called. Heck...if no forms are handy, it's kinda comforting to know that a maintenance issue was communicated despite the lack of a form. How about the napkins to maimtenance, instead of the A/C log book, will the napkins also go away.
Check out the FAR's, there nothing wrong about the flt crew talking to maintenance about a problem,s. but leaving a napkin on the center pedestal with the mechanical item and not in the log. that's not in the FAR's. the napkin could be place in the trash and the malfunction not address. some item no problem (reading lights, galley items), but some, T/R slow to deploy, intermittent gear unsafe light, stab trim slow to move on decent, fluctuating hydrulic pressure in cruise ok on ground, bleed air pressure intermittent. to mention a few on napkins, Do you feel safe?Hmmm...I dunno. Keep up the good work SWA mechanics.
I'll let Southwest's record speak for itself. You're damn right I feel safe.Do you feel safe?

be the last PAX off the plane, and look in the C/P, center padestal area, row 9 reading light, r/h hyd press intermittent, no maintenance show, crew left, I waited for my connecting flight, which was next gate over, new flight crew on the same plane I arrived in load up and left, reading light, ok, r/h hyd press, I don't thing so. NAPKINS.You must have SWA confused with another carrier. I disagree with your "no problem" items. I have never seen a maintenance item simply left on a napkin.

Being a legitimate on-time airline isn't as easy as it seems.
