Airlines are trying to save every penny they can but looks like they alway fail to do so! All cutting measures have fail to produce a profit for them.
The only value this stunt has is it's a media play to mindless members of the "Green" brigade in our Goverment and those of other foreign countries that are thinking about taxing, (oh, I mean carbon credit schemes), commercial aviation. I guess it could have some value.
Operationally speaking, it's one of the more idiotic things I've heard about. I give it an F- for actual operational value, a B+ for public relations.
