Maine Coon. Very expensive cats. I love their big "hands".

My cat is nuts! Maine Coons love to play in water, my old lady has to mop up the water around the water tank several times a day. Plus, you always have to be on guard for a "cat attack" when walking around corners. You never get used to a 20 pound cat jumping at your a$$.

My maine coon is only a little over a year old. I've been told they do not stop growing until around 4-5 years. At this rate she will have to fly on a widebody exclusively :D. Instead of playing with water that much she has this crazy habit of scrathing around her bowl after she finishes eating. We put her dish on linoleum and she still does it. It's the funniest thing to see because she can't scratch it but only slide her paws, and yes she does attack when you least expect it. Occasionaly she will walk by and bite my wife lightly on the shin and move on like nothing happened.

Flyingcat, its about 3 years for full growth. But, my Toonces is 18 mos old and he's 20 pounds, the vet thinks he's pretty much done growing. He may gain a pound, but the big thing that will change according to the vet(and make him look bigger) is his head...their heads keep growing until 3. Since you have a female she'll probably be between 14-16 pounds at full growth. What kind do you have? Toonces is a brown mackeral tabby. Love those coons! Here's the cattery where I got my kitty http://www.castabelle.com/
