I finally get it now. It really wasn't any part of the Captain's fault aboard the Titanic after all, just a lousy ship and crew.

All good post, and I agree with everyone. However, the US Airways BOD has one outstanding feature that most all other airline BOD's don't. The Chairman of the board also happens to be the CEO and President. Our fearless leader has been building power ever since he set foot at America West. Just read his bio, the man can pretty much do whatever he wants with the company. That has been my biggest complaint with the way our leadership is assembled, there's no check in balance in place. No one person (especially for an airline) should have that much power.
