I know some will be sad.  I would like to thank the employees of AirTran for help making SWA grow and succeed. Look forward to many years in the future...

Very well said swamt. I thank all the AirTran employees as well. I work with some
former AirTran folks, some are good friends, and they are a little sad to see AirTran go.
For some the integration was not easy because of having to relocate but all are glad
to be working for Southwest now and we are all glad to have them. Together we are all
looking forward to our future success and growth. :)

Sharon and swamt,
very classy on your part.

Congrats on how well the integration is going.

Any word if AirTran will be featured on a permanent basis in the museum?

Not sure on that one WT.  I will say with 99.9% certainly,  I would count on a paint scheme to honor AT.  If not that then will work in some call letters in the tail numbers.  Not sure about the museum...

Not Too Much Longer Now for AirTran, as Final Flight Date Set

In this article, seems to be complaining of the length of time the SWA/AT integration is taking.  Hasn't all the other mergers had major problems with res and computer systems during integration?  I would rather see a longer time to integrate with smoother results.  And I believe some are still not merged fully after 7-8 years.  Who really cares about the time frame as long as it is done right and smoothly?  Except for maybe the investors for their return.  Plus SWA also had to integrate new international service and systems as all the other mergers were by airlines with existing international systems already in place.  3.5 years don't look all that bad as far as time to me.

youre absolutely right swamt...  remember the pilots at HP and US never settled   I think it would be cool to see FL painted plane at WN as a way to remember FL
