What's the big deal? Should 911 emergency dial be changed to 711?
Should the US pass a law eliminating September 11 as a date on the calendar?
While they're at it, why not eliminate 127 for Pearl Harbor?

A sad, tragic day indeed. But to try to erase every reference to it where a numerical assignment is made to anything is a bit too much.

Why not look at this aircraft as a reminder of that day! A day where terrorists tried to bring down a nation by attacking the symbols of American might.  A reminder where planes are still flying....fuller than ever, might I add.

I think I would have skipped that registry number. LAA purposely didn't re-use flight numbers or N numbers that were involved in crashes

According to a well placed source, once senior management found out about it, they responded pretty quickly and had the registry changed.

NWA had N666US... A 747-400. It may still be flying under the Delta logo.
I can't remember for certain if it is or not. Also fairly sure there's a '57 with a 666 no. as well?

Have to check out the fleet list when I get back to work...

I did many T/A checks on the "beast" ship working the old IT at DTW.

The all white one in TUS was a B757 N911AW that was recently retired. It was 911 all this time and no one ever mentioned it even once that I ever heard of.
