I noticed in the feb sked changes BOS-LAX goes 4 flts a day 737s inthe mix. Also LAX-IAD 3 aday 737s nin there too.LAX-EWR 3 aday 737s in there also.

Better the MRTC 737-800 than the LRTC (if it ever happens) 757s that are flying transcons now. B)

The schedule change in FEB also shows FLL-LGA all 757's as well. The reduction at STL continues as most flights will be on S80's and 737's. The 757's out of STL will be used only on leisure routes such as LAS and Florida. This goes along with corporate putting the 757's and A300's (new seat config) on more leisure markets.

Hats off to those PUSHY, ARROGANT, New Yorkers !!

Ever notice that AA does'nt even DARE entertain the thought of putting a narrow body a/c on transcons out of JFK ????

How, in good concience, can you expect people to ENDURE a 6hr. flt from BOS/EWR/IAD-- LAX, on a shitty narrow body a/c , with a flight service cart virtually blocking a passengers access to the "hopper", for approx. 90% of the trip ?? AA gives the impression, that it's JFK pax's are due more comfort, than EVERY OTHER transcon pax, into LAX.

WHY ?????????????????????????????????????????

puzzeled,
NH/BB's

I agree with you about the pushy and arrogant part, but I believe the real reason AA offers widebody service is because there is simply a greater quantity of pushy and arrogant New Yorkers than there are Bostonians and Washingtonians of any caliber.

EWR gets narrowbody service because CO has a good market share, so there's not much left for AA.

By the way, JetBlue offers nothing but narrowbody service out of JFK, and they're doing just fine.

Are those three daily JFK-LGB, three daily JFK-SNA, two daily JFK-SAN, two daily JFK-SJC, and daily JFK-SEA flight not trans-cons? They are all 757s. The JFK-LAX and JFK-SFO routes use three-class 762s because of the high premium demand.

There is nothing wrong with a 738 transcon. I know I would rather be ona 738 than a LRTC 757.

Also of note, MIA-LAX will have a 738, but only on Saturdays with AA 823 (operated with a 763 the other three days). LAX-MIA, however, will have a 738 daily. The transcons out of MIA will be:

MIA-LAX: 7x 772, 20x 763, 7x 752, 1x 738
LAX-MIA: 7x 772, 13x 763, 7x 752, 8x 738

MIA-SFO: 1x 763, 2x 752
SFO-MIA: 1x 763, 2x 752
