2015 Pilot Discussion.

In the larger scheme of things gentlemen; none of this now matters. All the infantile arrogance of the "spartan" bunch has proven pure folly for fast approaching a full decade now. Many/most of the east pilots they so cheerfully wished to throw under the bus are either sequestered in left seats for years now, and/or are retired or soon to be anyway.
 
The whole "This is sparta!" thing and "the nic will be crammed down your throats!" and a whole decade of "righteous" indignation in PHX has properly proved a complete joke. The wholly infantile "spartan soldiers/dire wolves/knights"/whatever/AWA insanity served as a fine (though initially shocking) study in Arrested Development, but nothing more.
 
Just why ANY semblance of sensible people/actual adults couldn't have reasonably been found to prevent all this BS must forever remain a mystery. Instead?...They relied on 2004 clueless new hires, with nothing more to personally offer than delusions of grandeur and no shortage of misplaced ego...and purely fantasized self "worth" of course.....

An interesting aside; THE most junior west pilot ( G Dickens) on the west list will soon be an E190 mid level block holding east captain come June. So all the junior westies as it seems are not totally clueless, just most of them!

The most junior west pilot takes a captain seat?....While their "army" remains locked in their piteously self-described "fishbowl" of PHX?...Well, no matter, and kudos to the "army of leonidas" brilliant efforts, I suppose. Given their  very most junior pilot (for which reason he managed to escape PHX) is to become an east 190 Captain,...well...I say we of the east just finally give it up and acknowledge that we're beat, and that the "spartans" were right all along....There can be no doubt that those yet trapped in the right seat in PHX for a full decade now would refuse the position anyway, given all their "Integrity"/etc.
 
In truth? I can't even pretend to care about "sparta" and the whole past decade of infantile PHX fantasies.  They aren't even good enough for sad laughs anymore. It's nowadays past the point of just plain pitfull. Of course I'm about to hang this "airline thing" up in favor of actually having a life, so perhaps I shouldn't comment further...well, save to say that I'm properly pleased that "my" seat will go to an actually deserving eastie, as opposed to some worthless "spartan" punk.

Enjoy Brother. You've "Been There/Done That" and retirement's thus fully earned. "Live long and prosper."  For myself; I'm thinking in terms of a biplane/sailplane combo filling future flying needs, without the toxic issues of finding a parking space/the TSA/the "joy" of generally being nowadays treated like a "suspect" just to go to work/etc as being things I'll not much miss, especially as we recall how things were when we were "kids" and proudly walked through airports as essentially "princes of the realm"....No matter. People eventually get whatever they'll put up with and the aviation "community's" hardly what it once was....Far too much "politically-correct"/pure-woosie indoctrination's taken place over the years, with corporate "puppy mills" substituting for what was once a predominately military background population. Oh well.  Per poor prechilled's perverse fantasies?....Well; I'm not at all sure even the world's finest clock makers (or psychiatrists) could really help her out anyway.

Now, there is a convoluted attempt to integrate pilots because pilots themselves bastardized the system for personal gain. No pilot group is able to successfully integrate themselves any more. It is left up to non pilots and politicians to dictate pilot seniority and frameworks they take place in. A sad commentary.
