2.5 Billion Loan Sources

all the labor cuts in the world don't do United any good if the revenue continues to fall..... UAL is about the only airline that hasn't publicly said how much Simplifares and Indy's entrance into IAD-west is going to cost them. I'll go out on a limb and guess the two will amount to close to $1B annually.... assuming Indy survives.

Geez World, you are pathetic. I've noticed your absence lately (is it because Delta's news all sucks?) Welcome back (not really) <_<

WorldTravler.

Good post, UniTED is getting it from ALL sides. I am still waiting for UniTED management, or ANY UniTED employee to post how much money TED is rakiing in for UniTED?????? They tout that they are killing everyone in the TED markets, but they post NO PROOF!!!!

http://www.rockymountainnews.com/drmn/busi...3539385,00.html

Some interesting points:

"Financially, we set very high goals and exceeded them," said Sean Donohue, vice president of Ted and United's regional-jet operation. "We've taken a lot of market share from (rival) Frontier (Airlines)."

Last I saw it was ONLY 6 points as people tried the TED product, but returned to use F9 instead for our HOMETOWN HOSPITALLITY. We'll see how that market share is say in 6 months!!!

Previous attempts by large airlines to start branch carriers, including an earlier effort by United, have failed or are struggling. Some deeply loyal United customers are frustrated that they must fly Ted on certain routes to gain frequent- flier miles.

AKA UniTED Shuttle is all TED is! You can't tell me that the pilots, F/A, gate agents, ground crews, or mechanics are on a different pay scale then the mainline. SO were's the savings??????

And analysts find it hard to decipher Ted's financial picture because the airline doesn't publicly release such information.

"I think Ted has been a mixed bag for United," said Henry Harteveldt, a vice president at Forrester Research in San Francisco. "I think it has helped United shore up some losses in certain markets. But because United doesn't break out results for Ted, it's hard to say if Ted is truly net profitable for United."

SHOW ME THE MONEY!!!!!

While Polk said Ted is competitive with other airlines, some industry watchers said prices are nothing special.

"I think that in the very beginning they were competitive on fares," said Carrol Tsutsui, manager of Mountain Pacific Travel Ltd. in Denver. "Now they've leveled off."

It will be interesting to see if TED see's his second B-DAY
