1549 LGA-CLT

My hats goes off to the crew - their training and skill and to the pax for staying calm and making sure everybody got out ok. Well done - indeed.

Mayor Bloomberg just said on CNN "Plane is tied up at Battery Park pier and will be pulled out in the coming days." I am amazed the damn thing is still floating!!! Good for Airbus.

On CNN they were saying earlier for people to pay attention when we give our safety demos because they may just need to know that information even though it isn't very likely emergencies do happen and this is a perfect example. Most people don't pay attention to the safety information we give.

You are SO right - and I'm sick and tired of passengers talking and laughing and being disruptive during the safety briefings - if you don't want to listen, that's fine - but for Gods sake, shut the f*** up - it's not only a matter of respect, it could actually save lives!

Kudos to Captain, crew, passengers and responders - I'm so thankful that everyone is safe.

what a job of flying by Capt "Sully" and his FO

and much props to the FA's for getting the pax out in a timely fashion

we are all very proud of you!

and of course great job by all responders

That's the idea. The pilot did his job.
I agree the pilot did his job, but can someone please explain to me what the flight attendants did? I would bet they, DID THIER JOB...Why is it the media and public only view us as servers in the sky? THE FLIGHT ATTENDANTS SAVED THE PASSENGERS LIVES AS WELL...Thank god for their training also. Why does everything in this industry have to be one sided? What would the press be saying if the pilots survived, and nobody else did? Let me guess? The Flight attendants wern't properly trained.

What a great job by a great crew. Very Professional...........

Ya think Dougie could have found a tie before the interview.

Here's a question. Now that they have the aircraft against the pier (assumingly secured so it won't float away), how will they recover it? Will they be able to put it on some kind of boat and float it somewhere or can they secure it to a crane and lift it out?

Another question... can it be repaired and made airworthy again??

(Granted, I know we don't know all the info... but seeing it against the pier put these questions in my head.)

The entire crew did a great job!!! Our training and professionalism shown through in this incident. To those injuried ;God speed on your recovery. I would be proud to fly with any of you.

Football quarterbacks get all the credit also, but IV never seen one win without a good line in front of him. Hats off the the back end crew also. Great job by the ferry boat operators.
