The Federal Aviation Administration is soliciting public comment on four potential plans to improve air safety, reduce delays and handle traffic growth in the skies over New York.
The call comes after the FAA released its Draft Environmental Impact Statement for the New York, New Jersey and Philadelphia Metropolitan Area Airspace Redesign Project.
The redesign of air-traffic routes involves a 31,000-square-mile, five-state area, including 21 airports serving a population of more than 29million people.
Special attention would be focused on Kennedy and LaGuardia airports, agency officials said.
