WN/US RUMOR

i WANT someone to buy us just for the simple fact that TEMPE will be gone! i think everyone at US (atleast on the east, maybe west too) feels the same way.

Don't forget that back in 2005 when Lakefield was searching for a merger partner WN was contacted. They were ONLY interested in the slots and routes. They absolutely did not want any of the employees and so the discussion ended. They knew it would be impossible to integrate such a large group of bitter workers into their culture (and before I get slashed, I am a US employee). So I would guess this is simply not true.

Gary has already said he would be interested in parts of USAir, such as the shuttle operation, But I cannot believe he would consider the whole shooting match. Things are in quite a state of flux over there. USAir will either get their act together or fall apart in due time. Time, for now is on our side.....

I'm a 20+ yr. US employee who rides Southwest several times a month and I can honestly say if your management were insane enough to do this then kiss your airline and job goodbye. USAir has never been anything other than death to whatever it's touched.

As a US Airways Flight Attendant I can honestly say... RUN LIKE THE WIND! Do not DO NOT even thing about it. It's a colossal mess from the word go. But remember Herbs statement in his book? "Every morning I wake up and thank God for USAir". How satirical would it be? Let's not find out.

I just would like to say that the employees here at US are some of the best in the business. It is our management that has put us in the place we are in. If a competent management team with respect and enthusiasm was to lead us into the future, we would all follow.

We would all welcome a management team that wants to run an airline. Obviously someone at LUV is smart enough to see great potential
here, all we need is a change in culture.

With LUV fuel hedges getting higher they are starting to feel the effects of high fuel costs. LUV needs an international partner to enhance their feed.

Couldn't agree more about the US employees.

Still, you could not find two more diametrically opposed cultures, business models, and cost structures than WN/US. They are totally incompatible. It won't happen because WN would have virtually nothing to gain except eliminating a competetor, and they can do that far more cheaply and easily on their own.
