SOUTHWEST WON'T BID FOR US AIRWAYS
Though aviation analyst Ray Neidl said that Southwest Airlines is the carrier most-likely to challenge America West by bidding for US Airways, Whitney Eichinger, a spokeswoman for Southwest, maintains that the airline is not interested in pursuing an acquisition of US Airways. There is a difference in bidding for assets and bidding for the entire busniness. If they become available WN will definitely bid on PHL gates and maybe even CLT, but they will not bid for the entire airline.
