US Airways #1 in bag performance for 2010! 😀



This morning the Department of Transportation (DOT) issued the Air Travel Consumer Report (ATCR) for December and for the full year 2010. For the month of December, US Airways ranked first among our major network peers in baggage performance for the sixth time this year and we secured our #1 ranking for the full year. That means employees will receive a $50 payout later this month, bringing the final 2010 payout amount to $650 per employee and $24 million systemwide – congratulations!

They may decide to outsource the whole lot of us if we keep getting these payouts. Just think, they don't have to pay out to contract personnel. mmmmm......... :huh:

Could we just enjoy the victory without the carping?

I flew back from AMS on Christmas Day right into the Christmas Meltdown that nearly was the end of US Airways. This folks is great news. All of the folks on the ramp and elsewhere should feel mighty proud. From Christmas Meltdown to Number 1 is an accomplishment you should cherish.

Are there clouds out there? YEP, a good contract is among them, outsourcing is always an issue in a union shop. Those things will still be there on Tuesday. So for now as a customer let's say thank you for a job well done. As a worker it's nice to be recognized as the best. ENJOY the recognition, bask in the glory, reality will be upon you soon enough.
