Why no MSY-PHX service?

HP was running a daily 319 on MSY-PHX before Katrina (as well as a daily to LAS), yet US has not brought back the service. It is a pretty gaping whole in the route map. With the city's tourism industry rebounding, you'd think US would want to connect MSY with it's large PHX operation. Any ideas on when/if this service will take flight?

We gave all the business to southwest. That was never the HP way of doing business. But for as long as I can remember it has been the US way ... so I guess we are using the old US business model .... bankruptcy cannot be far off!

The company cannot afford to tempt DP with a nonstop to New Orleans.

Whatever he does might be OK there, but business casual does not include coming back to PHX wearing beads and a tutu.
