"It's absolutely ridiculous. I can't believe they didn't let us vote on it, Jeff Doerr, a mechanic at Northwest's hub in Minneapolis, told the newspaper in a telephone interview last week."

Is this the ex-iam clown who runs the AMFANUTS website? He would be the first one to scream about AMFA bringing back a concessions nightmare. The iam scab union never ceases to amaze how low they will go with the hatred they have for AMFA.

The other NWA unions are next for a beating. Steenland and his cronies must be stopped before they kill someone.

It's funny how guys like this always complain that the union never brought a T/A back for a vote and complain even more when the T/A gets voted in. You can't win with people like that.

You're right, we have one at USAirways who boasted about how much he was involved with the negotiations, always me, me, me, I, I, I. (even till this day)
Yet after the proposal was voted in, his tune is now the same "you voted for it and blame your union brothers not the union". There will always be the know-it-alls and whiners.

If Jeff Doerr liked the companies final offer, why isn't he scabbing with the IAM fleet service scabs? He loves the IAM. He should be scabbing in solidarity with them!

Just read the articles at the amfanuts site. Is this site endorsed by AMFA? If I recall KTO said that everything in there was going to happen. So far it has all come true. I think you should not have been so quick to ridicule and paid a little closer attention. Then again if your not on strike and have nothing to lose why bother?

Why do you have to be on strike to have something to lose? Typical view of a short sited SCAB who would become a SCAB.

Don't label an entire workgroup scabs because they have no authorisation to strike. I've supported amfa in spite of insulting remarks made when I was on the ramp and in title 2. Most of the a/c mechanics are good guys, but there are way too many guys who through their arrogance have alienated every other workgroup in the company. Until there is a true trade union that can negotiate for the entire industry, ( I know thats called collusion), we will either submit or be picked off one by one. I hope I'm wrong.

So, working at AA I have nothing to lose? Tell me then, what happened to my 28 1/2% loss of pay and benefits. I stand to lose EVERYTHING if nwa management is able to break AMFA's will. (Which is VERY unlikely.)

But then, writing ignorant posts such as your you only have your dignity to lose. 😉

Ken if you had something to lose I guess you should have paid closer attention and researched the facts before the strike. In retrospect do you think if the strikers knew what Northwest had prepared would they have struck? If this strike fails what impact will it have on you?

Just as I won't judge the actions or inactions of an entire workgroup because of the anti-union agenda of its leader(Depace-1972 scab), you too shouldn't judge the insults of the few ignorant AMT's as the feelings of the entire workgroup. In both cases it is quite the opposite. There are some real strong union folks that are being forced to cross a picket line because of union leadership inactions or rather their orchestrated assistance of NWA in union-busting.(Depace-1972 scab) Just as there are real strong unionist on the picket line who appreciate the help from the true unionist currently working. There are of course a few a-holes in every workgroup. 🙄

As someone in the "bold" category, thanks for this post.

As I have mentioned in another thread, I'm no fan of AMFA's philosophies (I'm more of a "high tide lifts all boats" kind of guy), but that is a debate for another time. Right now every workgroup/union is in Steenland's crosshairs, and if DePAce thinks he can schmooze his way out of it for all of us, he's delusional. If anyone had any faith in the IAM's ability to get their jobs back, I'll bet you would have seen sympathy strikers in much greater numbers.

In the meantime, I will continue to refuse to perform struck work, which in my station's case is pushback/brake riding.

Kev, does not performing struck work hinder the normal operations of the company and do you receive any animosity from your leads or supervisors when you refuse to do a job you are told to do?

Thanks Kev for your efforts...

I do look as representational debates as two brothers fighting, but at the end of the day we are brothers and blood is thicker than stone. We can fight all day about who should be representing which workgroup but the bottom line for me is if management sh*ts on any union brother, count me in for the fight.

And to answer PTO's question
Does that include the "Replacement Worker" work group?

No PTO, you are a scab, you will never be a union brother. You are the moral equivalent of a child molester, a disgusting low life. I only hope you lived in New Orleans and your house gets looted while you SCAB.
