Which Airline Is Next?

Did U think that the others would NOT roll back their increases, thereby giving U a price advantage? Seems to me a bad move by U when all the others had gone along more or less and it was a chance for everyone to get some relief from the spike in fuel prices.

I'm not sure that fuel prices are going to come down significantly any time soon. Even if the Saudis increase production, it will take 2-3 months for that additional oil to work its way into the system, and I doubt that the Saudis will risk hastening the end of their fields' productive lives for any length of time. Are any of the airlines prepared for a new spike in prices right before Christmas and leading into the slow time in the New Year? I'm guessing that the Saudi concern for gas prices in the U.S. will come to a screeching halt shortly after 02NOV--say like, 0001 on 03NOV. ;)

Or later, if it is a close election and GW has to circumvent the will of the people as he did in the last election.
