when will SFO cities be picked by SWA front office?

According to this thread on airliners.net, the announcement will come later today. The schedules are being loaded into OAG. 8xSAN, 7xLAS and 3xMDW. The start date is August 26.
The SFO announcement today was also on southwest.com and swalife. The schedule is now loaded and ready to sell. Included is connecting svc to MHT,PVD,BWI,IAD and MCO to start and we will utilize 2 gates in Term 1.

I do wonder if WN is trying to put the screws to HP/US on their LAS hub/focus city. HP/US has almost abandoned the LAS-DEN route with only two weekly frequencies at this point.

F9 has 7-8 flights a day, WN has about the same as does UA. DEN-LAS probably isnt that great a market for yield anyway and with over 20 flights on 3 other carriers (including a code share partner), why would US try to keep it just because? It wasnt a large US market to begin with and the planes can be much better utilized in other markets with UA offering flights for anyone who really misses US on this market.
I'm sure WN just sees the traffic on SFO-LAS and figures thats a good place to start (LAS will also offer quite a few conx from SFO as well).

There are a total of 46 destinations for now that are either direct or connections.

Oh, my point is not that US would or should keep a weakening market from LAS around just because, especially in light of increasing competition on the route. However, you can see that US is, of course, more likely to have a larger presence on a competitive route when WN doesn't serve the route; for example, LAS-DFW has six daily mainline round-trips while LAS-IAH has a single CR9. LAS-SFO sees seven daily mainline round-trips while LAS-OAK gets one mainline and one CR9.

If US reduces LAS-SFO service as a response, that weakens the LAS hub/focus city further -- and at some point, you're not left with much at all.
