So what's a 31R investigation and what rights does the investigated have? At least to know what the investigation is about?

Article 31 in the union contract says it is about not paying dues to the Union which is simply not so. It would require faking records to make that the reason. I have been told different reasons for the 31R investigation none of them seem to justify anything. The union rep told me they are only allowed to witness not represent. I was put through a brutal and illegal interrogation for 3 hours in front of the union rep from which I guess they could get nothing to use against me since I simply told the truth. Is there another Article 31?

Ive heard of a 29F but not a 31R, Must be a different work group than Maint.

A 31R investigation or meeting is addressed in Article 31R of the APFA Contract. You can read the language of this at apfa.org.
In short, it says that any meeting where there are 2 managers that could lead to discipline, the FA is entitiled to APFA Representation and you have 4 hours to find someone. You also have the right to see anything that is to be used in the meeting at least 15 min. prior to the start of your meeting.

If you have been called for a 31R meeting, get ahold of an APFA rep immediatley. It is a very serious situation.
